Poppy — Local services in Morro Bay

Absolutely zero stars, unfortunately. The older woman working was extremely rude and made terrible looks at my family when we walked in. I am a white female, my husband is Hispanic and my children are obviously mixed. Every other person inside the store was white and she asked them multiple times if they were doing ok and or Needed assistance. Not a single word was spoken to us, just ugly looks. We left but I decided to go back in, solo, just to see if anything was different. Another gentleman (who also happened to be Of color) walked in the store and happily said hello to her and she gave him a terrible ugly look as well. He was obviously confused because what would warrant that from someone working a retail store. Isn't the goal to have customers? It was that moment that I realized that she is an absolutely unhappy and seemingly racist human. What a disgrace. I had taken my kids in there to share with them the memories I had with my mom. It was my moms absolute favorite store. My mom passed before my children could meet her so we try to give them a glimpse into how she was, and the things she loved. What a terrible experience to be etched into my brain. Something that was once a memory we looked forward to reliving is now tainted by a grumpy old woman with ugly looks on her face and complete disregard for specific individuals existence. If it was you and you're reading this, do better. If this old woman is simply an employee, I urge you to take action. She will run your business straight into the ground with that type...

I love this store. Everything in it is neat and fun. Barbara, the owner is nice, helpful and has a really good eye for merchandise. Poppy is great if you are looking for good quality clothing, shoes and accessories for your self or for a gift. I've loved everything i have bought from here. I have a sun hat that i purchased a couple of years ago that has been with me on many international trips and still looks like brand new. It's made out of some special stuff that you can fold a million times and it springs right back. Anyhow, I can't say enough good stuff about Barbara and Poppy!...

This was my favorite place to go till yesterday. The very mature lady at the register was so rude to me……. She made me feel like I was going to take something. I was wearing some reading glasses that I was thinking of buying and I walked up to the counter and she said it so rudely… “are you buying those!!” I looked up and said “I’m thinking about it!”.
