Rock Kayak Co LLC — Local services in Morro Bay

Last Nov. Me and my fiance rental a double kayak from sub seas tours and we had a horrible time, were only out 10 mins before having to go back in because we couldnt get our kayak to go straight. SO we tried again at Rock Kayak yesterday 7/3/2016 and everything went perfect !!! They are even $5 cheaper even the extra hours. Were the last group to go and we needed 4 two-person kayaks. They were super happy to help us but We had to wait about 5-10 mins to get all 4 but well worth the wait. It was high tide so one guy told us how to paddle the right way, then another guy showed us how to actually paddle the kayak. We had 6 adults and 2 kids and never felt unsafe. Kayak's were super easy to paddle even with a kid up front paddling alone. Amazing time and good memories because of Rock Kayak. Definitely will be doing this again...

Terrible experience. Website says they open at 9am daily. We arrived at 9:30am on a Thursday to rent 2 kayaks for 4 people. No one was there. A young man was waiting and told us he rented and fully paid for a kayak on-line for 9am and had been waiting for someone to show up. An employee arrived at approximately 9:40am carrying his coffee and told us he wasn't ready to open. He told us to come back at 10:30am. When the young man who had rented and paid for a kayak on-line asked if he could have his kayak the employee told him no and gave him a refund. The employee had a rude, dismissive attitude. We left and went down the street to Morro Bay Paddlesports were we had a wonderful experience and an amazing day of kayaking in Morro Bay. Skip Rock Kayaking and go straight to Morro Bay...

Native of the Central Coast (Los Osos) but moved out of state in my early 20’s. Kayaking/surfing was part of my childhood. Now that I have kids in their later teens I wanted to give them the experience I had growing up. Rock Kayak delivered! I was already familiar with tides and currents but they made me feel comfortable sending someone totally unfamiliar with that kind of thing. They supplied everything we needed without any extra charges. The guy who helped us was super cool too(I think it was the owners brother)-he even swapped out my kayak because I had noticed one of the back straps was broken (didn’t want to be leaning back sideways for an hour). Best price of the few others I checked out also. Honestly if/when we do this again, I won’t look anywhere...
