Danish Concepts International — Local services in Mountain View

This store sells high quality Danish/Scandinavian design furniture designed to last, with pricing to match or exceed quality. Most of the wooden furniture is now coming from the Indo-China area and much of it is oil finished teak. According to the personnel they never run sales on most of the furniture items, or if they do, they are not willing to share the information in advance. Pricing, even on multiple items was not at all negotiable. Don't expect any bargains or deals at this store even for repeat customers.

Customer/sales service has to be asked for and is not gregariously given. During my most recent visit I felt as if I was doing them a favor to buy something. They tend to only respond to direct questions, with answers strictly limited to the question, offer limited additional information, and do little to encourage the sale. Upholstered items can be customized and delivery is included over a certain dollar amount in most cases. However tax is calculated on point of delivery, NOT point of sale so it may vary depending on the local sales tax where you live.

Products are warranted against defects and failure to perform to specs. They also have a clearly stated return/cancellation procedure. Including restocking fees.

The reasons I choose to make my purchase on this occasion was they had a quality product, it was what I wanted, the way I wanted it. While I could find a similar product cheaper somewhere else, it was not as well made and I could not physically see it or examine it as it was available on-line only. So if it did not meet my needs I would have to pay to ship it back. The difference in price however was significant. I purchased 6 items. For the cost of one item at this store I could have purchased all 6 on-line, abet significantly inferior quality of product and construction.

If you are looking for Stressless Ekornes, Danish concepts has more display items (by far!) than any other distributor in the area. They not only have a really complete selection of chair styles but they display the chairs in a wide variety of leathers and in some less than standard colors. We thought we had refined our search in terms of style and color until we did one final search at Danish concepts. We modified the style and the leather color after seeing it displayed. Danish Concepts is our local reseller of Ekornes Stressless furniture. Ekornes makes some of the most ergonomic and comfortable chairs on earth. Danish Concepts has excellent customer service and product knowledge.
