I was hesitant and hungry. The more and more hungry I got the less and less hesitant I became. My sister got Pad Thai noodles the other day from here. They would have been fine if she gave them shelter in the fridge, but unfortunately she kept them out in the wild for too long. I'm starting to understand why Cup of Noodles used to be her favorite food. Cup of Noodles isn't going bad anytime soon. Pad Thai noodles aren't as resilient though. Lauren needs to understand she can't treat every noodle as if it came from a Cup of Noodles. When she left those Pad Thai noodles out in the wild for close to 20 hours, there was no way to undo the damage that was done. I had to make the decision was I going to let my hunger or common sense win. Hunger usually wins that battle, so I ate the Pad Thai noodles. The smell of it wasn't right, but the taste felt right. I ended up being the test dummy for my sister because after I finished half of it, she decided to finish the rest. These Pad Thai noodles were pretty good for possibly being bad. I can't even imagine how they would taste if I got them fresh. I'm planning on going here again and not even giving the food a chance to go bad by eating it as soon...
Read moreUgh, I will never eat here again. I have eaten here about 5-6 times and am disappointed every time I do. This last time I went was the worst and I will never return. I worked at a Thai restaurant for 4 years with chefs from Thailand during my college years, so I’ve had my fair share of Thai food. I was craving some pad Thai so I ordered it. Now, if a restaurant can’t make a good pad Thai, literally Thailand’s most known dish in the states, that’s not a good sign. The pad Thai was a soggy, MUSHY, wet mess. The noodles literally fell apart because it was SO soft. You can see the pieces in the photo. The pad Thai sauce also tasted off, like there was ketchup in it. When mentioned to the server, she said,” okay” and walked away.
I don’t typically send back food or complain about it but this was inedible. What you see in the picture was exactly how much I didn’t eat. What made it worse was the lack of good customer service to address the issue. I was with 2 other people who were also extremely dissatisfied with their food; one of them also ordered the pad Thai.
I feel like it’s been hard to find good Thai food in the South Bay. I’m still on the lookout for a good place but...
Read moreOn a Friday afternoon at around 3:30 PM in Mountain View, there aren't many choices for authentic Thai food driving down El Camino. Luckily for our trio, Tommy Thai was open for business!
The interior is nice and cozy, and our waitress was very friendly and attentive. Since it was our first time here, we wanted to sample as many dishes as we could handle. Here is the line-up: Fresh Rolls w/Shrimp Crab Fried Rice Pad Thai w/Shrimp Panang Chicken Rock Cod Prik Khing Green Beans Sweet Sticky Rice with Mango
The Fresh Rolls were like mini shrimp burritos and was a great app to set the stage. We dug into the tasty Crab Fried Rice and poured some of the Panang Chicken curry sauce over it. The Rock Cod was cooked perfectly and seasoned very well. The green beans were tasty and the Pad Thai was a little saucier than I am used to. Overall, everything packed great flavor and hit the spot. Our only complaint was our dessert. The sweet sticky rice was not very sweet and sticky, and the mangoes were just a little too tart. That aside, it was definitely...
