UPDATE Everything stated below is still relevant, HOWEVER, the recliner motor failed just after Thanksgiving and we called PM. They stated it was "out of warranty and you'll have to use the extended warranty, here is the phone number; again this was just after Thanksgiving 2022. They sent the" repair" person mid-December, who looked at it and said "the motor is defective, but we don't carry motors and it will need to be ordered"! We waited until mid-January to check the motor status, which they had "no record" of ordering! Additionally, they asked "why did you use the extended warranty, as your recliner is still under store warranty"! It is now February 1st and I have now had a non-functional recliner for 2 months and waiting... This is why they dropped 2 stars from me. ' My wife and I have been searching for that QUALITY recliner (one for each of us) for about 3 months. We hit all of the highly commercialized stores, but never found our 100% perfect recliner; meaning we would be "settling" for less than perfection... Though we drove by "Penny Mustard Furnishings" many, many times, we never really considered it because the name made no sense and it looked a bit too expensive. We did not find THE recliner we wanted at a competitor of PMF, but they recommended we look there! We were kindly greeted and Laura Show (our sales person) asked us exactly what we were looking for. She showed us 3 next to each other (not 100% what we wanted) and went to her sales counter while we looked at the 3 chairs. She came back for our input about the chairs (clearly taking notes about our likes/dislikes of these 3 recliners). She took us to a couple of other chairs and refined our desired recliner features and style. After a trip to her sales desk, Laura came back with 2 extremely close perfect matches and then the AHHHHHHHH recliner! It was 100% perfect and no settling... One other thing Laura showed us were cutouts of "Ours and Theirs" furniture... "Theirs" had minimal support and used plywood for the frame, but "ours" used solid Maple wood with clearly excellent support! I have never written a review this long, but have for Penny Mustard because after looking for so long and not stopping in there I thought others might feel the same way. Watch what you sign , make sure u get anything sales associates says in writing

On 1/28/2024 my parents went to Penny Mustard in Naperville to buy a Bed set , they spoke to Amy Wilson one of their sales associates, so they made a purchase one of the of the contracts they had or sign was a one year comfort guarantee which you have to purchase a $300 mattress pad with , this comfort guarantee states that “ if you are unhappy with the comfort of feel of your mattress or box spring , we will return it at anytime within the first year for 75% of its purchase price “ which is fine they understood, but Amy mentioned to them if they want to exchange it they and they would only have to pay the difference in price. When the mattress was delivered 4/29/2024 they noticed that mattress was very saggy , after the delivery people left , my parents felt the mattress was to soft and did not feel as supportive/firm as they needed to be , they still tried it they used the mattress pad as stated on the comfort guarantee , Amy called a few days later to see how the mattress was and my parents stated they didn’t like and it was to soft , Amy was supposed call my parents back and did not follow thru , so a few days later they went to talk to Amy in person , Amy was about to do the exchange and was told by Donna Arndt they even with the exchange they would loose 25% of the money then Amy stated that the Donna Arndt a customer service specialist was going to call them to figure out a solution no call was ever made to my parents . till this day my parents are u uncomfortable in this mattress and there is medical conditions that both of them have that come into play , again they are looking for a refund but a exchange for a more supportive/firmer mattress, I personally would never buy this place and will make sure I tell friends and...

BUYER BEWARE!!! SHADY BUSINESS SHADY PRACTICE!!!

When my parents initially purchased a mattress, they were assured by sales associate Amy that they could exchange the mattress for only the cost difference between the two mattresses. However, when they attempted to make the exchange, they were informed by Amy that a manager named Donna would contact them to complete an even exchange.

Despite the restock comfort guarantee stating that a 25% price reduction would be applied to refunds, there was no mention of exchanges in this policy. The manager Donna never contacted my parents. Instead,Amy reached out and completely reneged on her initial promise, stating that my parents would have to pay the restock fee in addition to the full price difference of the mattress.

This unprofessional behavior and misleading information from your staff have caused my parents unnecessary stress and have nearly doubled the cost of any high-quality mattress they would consider. It is unacceptable for a company to treat customers, especially senior citizens with such disregard and inconsistency.

Penny Mustard Furnishings should be ashamed of this disgraceful service and the financial burden they have imposed on my parents. This experience has severely damaged my trust in this company, and i will be sharing this experience with others here and on Video platforms to ensure that other people do not fall victim to the same deceitful practices.
