We shopped around at several locations around town to find the perfect replacements for our tired and worn out couches that are long overdue to be replaced. We had found a couch at another furniture store, but they let us know that it would be 8+ weeks to get the couch while American Signature furniture told us that they could get it along with another couch we liked in 4 weeks, great! Buying process was easy enough, we purchased on 4/6 and they told us they'd call us in 4 weeks to pick up. 4 weeks go by and we get a call that it will be 4 more weeks.. Not the news we were looking for since this was the whole reason we wound up purchasing from them in the first place. Fast forward to May 21st and i receive an email stating that "all or a portion" of our order is available for pick up. Unsure due to the wording of the email I called to confirm that all of our order had arrived and was available for pick up. Someone in customer service confirmed that we had 4 pieces available and ready, so my husband took that Friday off of work to pick up our new furniture and threw our our old couches on Thursday evening to make room. On arrival, they found our sectional (3 pieces) no problem. After waiting around 30-45 additional minutes they let my husband know that they are not able to find the second couch. The couch that is the sole reason we purchased from American Signature to begin with. He spoke with a manager there who let him know that they don't physically touch anything that comes in, and they have no idea where our couch is and offered to re-order a couch for us and offer us a discount to which my husband declined and left. A few hours later, after my husband had went to a rival store and purchased a couch to replace the couch that they had lost the manager called him back to let him know that he had found our "lost" couch and asked my husband to return the couch that he purchased elsewhere, and carry on with the purchase through ASF...I had to call the store twice to receive updated documentation (from the manager, with attitude) that showed we were being credited the cost of the couch that had been lost. Read moreThe only reason there are 2 stars here is because of Raven at the Rivergate store. She took us through the store, helped us pick out our sectional, was very friendly and very knowledgeable. Here's where American Signature messed up (NOT RAVEN!). We ordered a reclining sectional and a full mattress in November. First delivery date: Jan. 5. I get the confirmation email on Jan 2, and confirm the delivery time. I call on Jan. 5 to try to pinpoint the arrival time, and the customer service person argues with me that the set delivery date was always Jan.7 not Jan 5. After I insist about the confirmation email, he said he can now see when the change happened, and in fact, another change in delivery was expected: Half the sectional would tentatively be delivered Jan. 15, the other half mi-Feb. and the mattress mid March (I kid you not!). When I asked why I wasn't notified of the change, he started making up excuses about the system, that all delivery dates were tentative (although I had confirmed mine), that it could take up to 8 weeks for delivery (which if you count from November does not put you in March). Never apologized once. I called the store and decided to cancel my order, and talked to wonderful Raven. She worked with me all afternoon and the next morning to try to find a solution, and then gracefully cancelled my order when we couldn't find another piece that would arrive on time. Bottom line: American Signature really dropped the ball on this, and costumer service need a refresh course on servicing costumers. Raven is one of the best sales associates I've dealt...
