be prepared to wait a long time. and get very low money when you sell here. i came here to sell some cards. but i had a bit of a negative experience. when i walked in they were more than happy to help me when i wanted to buy something. but when i was at the sell counter. the person working there took a super long time to inspect the cards from the person in front of me. and he never acknowledged me. i get that he was working. but not even anything as simple as. hey im sorry about the wait it will be about 10 or 15 minutes. but nope. nobody even looked at me. none of the other employees cared about helping or talking to the sell counter person to acknowledge me.
it was getting very annoying. i felt like i was invisible. then when they finally gave the guy his money. he keeps chit chatting with the same customer. again no acknowledgment that i was waiting or anything. they all talked like best friends. then when i finally do give the guy my cards to look at. it takes him a minute or two to decide what everything was worth. and it was worth very little. even though i looked online and some of the cards were worth a decent amount. i didn't go in there expecting to get a fortune. but i feel like i was ripped off.
and lastly they make you jump through a lot of hoops just to get the money. you have to make an account even if you don't plan on coming back. and i certainly will not be going back. the only reason this gets two stars instead of one. is because one of the workers was nice. and i got some decent stuff in my packs. but the sell desk guy definitely needs to be a bit better with waiting customers. I'm fine with waiting a little while. but at least tell people it will be a while. and don't spend all day jibber jabbering with the other customer once you give them their cash. because some of us don't have all day to sit around and watch you...
Read moreI've been going to TNLG for a few years, at first the staff was rude and ignored their customers, I doubt this was the intention of the owner, but that's what happens when you're not careful of who you hire.
The card selection is abysmal. If you're looking for a card, take your business elsewhere, they have hardly anything in their cases, and any cards you ask for, that they may or may not have, they'll check their out of date/not kept up database and swiftly tell you "No, don't have any" without looking.
As for product, they seriously RARELY have the current set of magic cards, and if you ask for anything such as modern masters, or any set/block printed in the last few months, they'll more than likely be out, or low.
As for the events. Wednesday drafts never fire off, the amount of FNM players has decreased by a VERY large amount over the last year, Saturday Modern sometimes fires off, but not as often as you'd think. Saturday Standard usually fires off in some form.
In all, the store's customer service has improved, perhaps the owner had a good talk with his employees, the card selection is non-existent, and the stores popularity is dwindling, resulting in the events to barely fire off.
I hope that TNLG gets better and comes out of this stick in the mud issue it's having, these are my opinions of the store as someone who visits it regularly. Perhaps there's a threat of TNLG going out of business and that's why product/supply has dwindled, which I hope isn't the case, but I just keep seeing less and less people show up, and this worries me, hopefully things get put...
Read moreHonestly, I never been in a nicer store and I used to own one. As soon as you walk in, the layout and selection are awe-inspiring. I came in because I am new to the area, and I was trying to find a new "home store". Despite how nice the store looked, this will not be the place. I went to three different game stores that day and this is the only one where I didn't feel welcome. They clearly wanted me to buy, and honestly, they had the selection of items I was looking for a more, but did not feel welcoming. It's hard to be a geek/nerd and these stores should be our safe spaces. I didn't feel that here. I would rather spend a bit more money at a place that wants me as a friend more than a customer.
Edit: My wife convinced me to give this place an additional chance. They have a new store associate named Cayla (SP?) That was amazing. Incredible attentive, friendly, and welcoming, perhaps I was quick to dismiss this store during a time where they were admittedly very busy. I still wish there was an easier way to find specific games I'm looking for, but I will definitely be trying this place a third time.
Additional edit: Gave this store a third, forth, and fifth visit. Still extremely nice and even sold some of my old cards, but the feeling of warmth still wasn't there. I am looking for a second home, not just another place to conduct...
