Restriuant recommendation about seafood in New Orleans

Worse dining experience of my life. Definitely- ⭐️ if I could. Service was bad, restroom was bad, & the food was so horrible I was sick immediately after eating just a few bites!! I’d rather burn my $100+ spent there than eat there again. 1st time visiting New Orleans & this experience completely ruined it for me & my family. We walked in & the vibe wasn’t friendly at all. I should have known to trust my gut feeling. The server coldly handed us menus & left. I was debating if we should leave cuz he didn’t come back for like 15mins, but I wanted to give him another chance. He quickly took our orders & left with a cold expression. My son ordered dirty rice & he said we don’t have that. So I’m like ok maybe he’s having a bad day it’s whatever. Wrong!! While waiting for our food, I went to use the restroom. Doors were broken for both stalls. Toilet paper roll on the ground & one didn’t even have toilet paper. There was no soap or paper towels. It was so sketchy, I decided to hold myself until we got to another bathroom. When we finally got our food it didn’t look bad but after tasting the food I felt sick right away. And wasn’t sure if it was just me. But nope!! Tried the jambalaya rice & it tasted like sour partially uncooked rice. Horrible!! Took a few bites of my seafood boiled. The potato & corn textured seemed ok but the flavor was very strange. You’d think since Louisiana is know for their seafood boils it’ll be at least edible. I don’t know what seasoning they put in their seafood boiled, but 🤢🤮🤮🤮. I ate one shrimp & it tasted like I was eating raw stanky fish. I had a few other people tried it & said it was bad too. I immediately decided we shouldn’t eat anymore of our food. I didn’t don’t want us to get food poisoning since we were on a road trip & had many stops to go yet. Our bill was $100+ for the most nastiest food ever. My husband was so kind he still left a tip despite how horrible everything was. I literally was trying hard not to vomit as we were walking out of the restaurant. I barely made it out before vomiting outside & on the way to the public restroom a few blocks away. It was so bad I couldn’t get rid of that nasty taste in my mouth. I drank half a bottle of coke & ate ice cream to cleanse my palate. Finally stopped my urges to vomit. My hands stank like raw fish even after washing my hands 20 times at 5 different bathrooms. I have never left a online review for a restaurant before, but I want to warn people about how horrible this experience was. It’s so sad that there was absolutely nothing good about this restaurant. Try it at your own risk.

The food was excellent!!! My girlfriend and I ordered fried green tomatoes and alligator. Both were very well cooked and mouthwatering. The tomatoes are topped with a delicious pepper sauce. I ordered the catfish and oyster combo and my girlfriend ordered a cheese burger. The burger was good and the catfish and oyster were beyond delicious. Now for the BAD PART. Our waitress, Taylor, was doing great, at first, but then then it all went to hell. After finishing our food, Taylor said that she would be right back with our check. Twenty five minutes later we got tired of waiting so we went inside and told the bartender what was going on. Taylor totally forgot about us. She was taking orders from two other tables. The bartender gave us our bill on behalf of Taylor and then the bartender told taylor that we were waiting to check out. Taylor simply looked at our ticket then said yeah, thats yours. Then she left as we waited there to pay. Everyone went looking for Taylor. Including the manager who said he would be right back. Well, he comes back into the room a few minutes later and forgot about himself. He never came back to us like he said he would. The bartender ended up cashing us out. When we headed to the stairs to walk down and out of the restaurant. Guess who we saw. Taylor talking on her phone. They're lucky we're honest people and have integrity. We could simply have walked out with a free meal like the four people who were sitting next to us who were also waiting for their check. They ended up leaving without paying because they were tired of waiting. So... delicious food, horrible service and horrible management. I say this for multiple reasons. One, the manager forgot about us, two, I've looked at other low rated reviews of one and management only responded to a three star review apologizing for their experience. I paid over a hundred and seven dollars for everything. The messed up part was they included a fifteen dollar gratuity charge(which is ridiculous because the service was horrible) and then it had the option of leaving I guess what you would call an EXTRA tip. I have experience in waiting tables. I hate to say this but Ive had better service at IHOP. My girlfriend went from happy to angry and it takes A LOT to upset my girlfriend.

This has been our 4th time here over the past 2 years and will be our last unfortunately. We arrived at 4pm and the woman at the front table stand took down our name and number to sit on the upstairs outside patio, said it would be about 30 min and she would TEXT us when available. We waited, then came back 50 minutes later to see what was going on. The woman at the front (now a different person) said “oh that girl went home-she’s new and doesn’t know anything. We closed off the balcony hours ago. Not my problem”. I am not exaggerating she said (this is not my problem I just got here).

(Keep in mind we had been standing outside for 50 minutes with the balcony in sight-people were dining and 2 tables were open the entire time). L Asked for the manager (Mike) and he basically said “try your chances upstairs but they have hold on the outdoor tables”. We walked upstairs and lo and behold it was the same woman who promised to text us for our resi. (LOL). We asked her what was going on and she shrugged and said I don’t know.

Then after speaking with a manger we were finally seated outside where there were 5 open tables within site, 3 other tables were currently seated but not dining. We sat down and immediately heard that the tables next to us had the same poor experience including mis-leading seating AND incorrect menus outside. For instance-the couple next to us searched high and low for dirty rice, it was on the menu outside but once they saw the indoor menu it was not listed.

To add fire to the flames- the waitress comes out after 15 minutes of sitting outside without any help, says “EVERYONE HERE MUST PAY A 20% GRATUITY IF THEY WANT TO CONTINUE TO SIT HERE FOR THE NEXT 1 HOUR”.

Obviously we all agreed because given better service we would have tipped MORE. Such a shame, will no longer recommend, will no longer patronage.

Lastly: See attached photos for absolute trash Oysters. I’ve never had to clean my own food and be scared for my health. This is absolutely disgusting I’m sorry. The least the could do was RINSE the dirt. I’m from Houston, I know gulf oysters and this was sickening. No one should be...
