With the recent Pilates craze I was excited to try out Solidcore. As a first timer you're asked to come 15 minutes ahead of time to get acquainted with the workout. You get a really quick demo of their machine, sweatlana. The machine utilizes 8 springs that add resistance. Each workout everyday hits a different part of the body.
As a workout it didn't feel very beginner friendly and often times I was really lost and kept having to look to my left and right to understand. The instructor isn't demonstrating the moves so you're having to depend on the others around you. If you're new the instructor will definitely help correct your form every now and then and they were very helpful when it came to switch out my springs.
There are more beginner friendly classes available but couldn't find them available at this specific studio. On that note it seems to have a steep learning curve as I discussed with other people who attended, they said it took them 10-20 classes to feel comfortable with the cues and machine.
On my second class the instructor gave a lot more modifications which was super helpful.
Pros low impact but a good burn (definitely was sore) fun group workout (high energy, loud music)
Cons expensive depending on the level of the class no modifications to any of the movements (but maybe this exists in the beginner workouts) no breaks built in to the workout (you have to...
Read moreThis is regarding overall solidcore customer service. The coaches at this location are great.
I’m very upset and I’m receiving horrible customer service. When I initially requested a freeze on 3/3 ( I had two classes left at the time) I submitted a note from doctor. -I was granted a two week freeze despite the note which clearly lists I can’t continue with activity at this times
Then I’m told I have to re submit which I did days ago (even though it was the same process) and haven’t received any response. I called and begged my local location to extend my four classes as I had already lost 2 the month prior. Which I requested since I had to wait for. Response that they be restored. I’m joe owed 6 classes because as of today my classes are all gone. This is not right we pay quite a bit of money to maintain these memberships and the customer service is not up to par at all. Why should the customer have to continually call or email to get a response or a simple freeze. This is ridiculous.
**Update Two weeks later from this review and absolutely no resolve. They closed a ticket after I didn’t respond in 3 days (did not return my 6 lost classes) but it’s okay that it takes them on average 7-14 days to reply. Absolutely infuriating and a joke...
Read moreThese classes are great but the customer service is awful. They tell you to come 15 minutes early but the door is locked until 10 minutes before class (as in you can’t come in more than 10 minutes before the start of the class to change or wait.) Usually no one is at the front desk/working so there’s just the instructor teaching class. I signed up for a 2 week unlimited and late cancelled one day. I was charged $40 late cancel AND wasn’t able to take a different class that day (this is never explained to you upon sign up, etc.) There is no one who picks up the phone if you have issues and their voicemail if full. Also came 3 minutes late to a class (the subway broke) and was locked out. Their policy is you can be up to 5 minutes late but there was no one to let me in (working the desk for instance) and, again, the door was locked (the code didn’t work). The teacher was ignoring us (someone else was late) when we knocked on...
