Super cool boutique with an airy, welcoming vibe and a standout selection of unique, high-quality clothing. The space feels thoughtfully curated, and the atmosphere is relaxed but stylish.

There were three male-presenting staff members on the floor when I visited—all super friendly, approachable, and genuinely helpful without being overbearing.

One star off for the fitting room situation—there was no way to fully close the curtain, and the 5-inch gap made me feel a little exposed while trying things on. I could see out, which made me wonder who might be seeing in.

That said, it wasn’t enough to ruin the experience. I still went back to buy the pieces I had my eye on and left happy. Overall, great shop—I’d just love a little more...

Bought jewelry and wanted to return it 2 days later. They refused the return and said all jewelry is final sale. Noone informed me about that when I purchased it and usually every store allows to return jewelry so there’s no way know that. They said they’re not responsible for informing customers about final sales and I should have informed myself on their website before purchasing (ridiculous! Who reads the faq of a website before visiting a physical store) and it’s also stated on the receipt (first of all, it’s not! Second, once you get that information from the receipt it’s too late anyways). Combined with the attitude of that girl I’d say it’s been the worst nyc store...

I visited Assembly to inquire about potential job opportunities as i’m an huge fan of the brands they carry. Before I could even finish my sentence, I was quickly told “no” and directed to email instead. When I explained that I had already emailed and simply wanted to leave a hardcopy, my résumé was still refused.

Afterward, I chose to browse the store, but not once did the employee ask if I was looking for anything or needed assistance.

At other stores I visited the same day, staff were both welcoming and willing to accept a résumé regardless of hiring status. Unfortunately, this experience at Assembly felt dismissive and left me with a negative impression...
