We scheduled a trip up to NYC for a weekend of ring shopping and had lined up multiple appointments with different designers including Bliss. When I scheduled the appointment with Bliss, she personally reached out and set up a quick phone call to get some background on us and our ring preferences. This call immediately set her apart from the other designers we were looking at and made the in-person meeting productive because she already had an idea what we were looking for. The in-person appointment was delightful and Bliss was very patient, showing us different stones and designs. We worked with Bliss to design a truly unique and amazing nested engagement ring + wedding band set-up. We ended up cancelling the rest of our appointments for the day and celebrating because Bliss had nailed it in our first meeting! Throughout the rest of the process, Bliss was very engaged and kept me up to date on the ring's status and when I could expect it. Once the design was complete, she sent me her sketches digitally so that I could get them printed and framed, which was just an awesome bonus to an already amazing process. I have never met a more accessible jewelry designer. In fact, I didn’t even think accessibility in jewelry existed. I’m fat and disabled, and both have prevented me from owning rings. My hands swell from my inflammatory autoimmune disease, so Bliss’ stackable puzzle rings are perfect for me. Also, she is very good at validating that many peoples hands swell and has taught me about ring spacers and finding a good size that can fit on different fingers.

I’m also transgender and I like that she does not gender her jewelry.

I also feel so held and supported by her as a person and an artist. She has helped me and many of my friends design, bespoke, fine jewelry, which feels like something I wouldn’t normally have access to.

Honestly, the whole process was made even more lovely with your attention to really figure out what would connect with me as an individual, and as a couple. I came in to the consultation without having any clear ideas of what I might want, and you were so patient in helping us create such a unique piece that was equal parts homage to the already existant, and the newly imagined. It was really important to include pieces from the hierlooms as they represent so much of Ryan's history (and what makes him my favorite person). This idea of wholeness from already whole parts seems like a great homage to marriage. Thank you so much for bringing our desires to consciousness.
