Went to visit Brooklyn Bridge and was looking for brunch, after my daughter deciding she wanted a "bad man sausage sandwich" we headed to the timeout market as we thought we would get something there that would tick the box.

Unfortunately not, we left and stumbled across bread and spread in DUMBO!

What can I say? Besides WOW! Amazingly friendly, patient staff, fantastic menu with lots of twists, but centred around amazingly fresh and tasty sandwiches.

We chose from the breakfast sandwich menu, I had a bacon sausage egg and cheese with aji Verde spread and arugula & tomato on ciabatta! Outstanding! My daughter ordered a sausage, scrambled egg and red pepper jam, with arugula and tomato. It certainly hit the "bad man sandwich" level and is considered by her the best sausage sandwich she's ever had.

The food was that good we promised each other we would return before we left New York, we did, we even battled the tail end of Hurricane Ian without coats to get another!

For all the places we ate and all the different food, Bread and Spread are still the best sandwich we had whilst in New York or anywhere for that matter.

Try it,...

I wasted 35 minutes of my life waiting for a stupid sandwich.

I ordered a sandwich in person, the cashier lady didn't tell me/warm me there was a big order from online. Of course she prioritized all the online orders before mine and kept me waiting for 35 minutes without apologizing! If the owner of this place sees this post, please please fire this cashier lady. She clearly doesn't have any customer service skills and do not respect other people's time.

After seeing the owner's passively aggressive response, I have to reply here - The reason google offers review option is to ask people for their actual experience and feedback. The owner's response is passively aggressive. I WILL NOT DELETE this review - my review does not hurt small business but to tell the truth/ state my experience. I never leave bad reviews but only state the facts. The owner's response caused me emotional damage, made my day even more stressful by just reading his/her aggressive and subjective response. I totally do not need another sandwich on the house - this subjective accusation makes me want...

Loyal customer here since 2020 when we lived in Dumbo. It used to be our go-to and honestly my favorite sandwich in the city. Even after moving to Fort Greene, we still made the trip to dumbo just for the sandwiches. Last time we called and were told they'd moved, so this is our first time trying the new location.

Unfortunately, the short rib sandwich just isn't the same. The meat is noticeably saltier and lacks the flavor and texture we remember. It's also much leaner now, whereas it used to have a great balance of fat and lean cuts. The blackberry jam doesn't stand out like it used to, and there's a lot less of the greens and onions. The size is a bit smaller now, but it's compensated with fries.

I got everything's getting more expensive, and it's probably why they moved and changed the recipe and made the portion smaller. But I'm disappointed to see the quality has gone downhill, sad to say it's no longer my...

Down in Dekalb Market is this little sandwich shop serving up some good sandwiches. The bread is killer, the meats are killer, and the presentation is killer. We tried the Porchetta and Tuscan Roast Turkey. The former is served with some pickled red onion but, they weren't very pickled and because my meat was on the very fatty side there was nothing to cut through that, I couldn't even finish it because of how rich it was. (I only had half of one as well since I split the turkey). The latter had a cranberry mustard spread which combined with the turkey gave me some holiday vibes. The bread on both was awesome, chewy, airy, and packed with flavor. I would visit again based on quality but, would like to see some balancing of ingredients. Grab a lemonade or something in case your porchetta comes out too rich like mine did.

cannot believe these bad reviews!!! were y’all ever even at the old bread & spread?! it isn’t exactly a dine-in experience and it takes a minute because perfection and the best sandwich on the face of the earth TAKES TIME. tbh was no big deal on a busy saturday. we ordered via the QR code as instructed on the signage. it said 15 mins. it was ready at the pick up window (WHICH IS CLEARLY SIGNED!) a few minutes after the eta. everyone needs to chill and support this new iteration so we can continue to enjoy the amazing food please and ty.

While visiting Brooklyn I needed a good start to my day with a NY breakfast sandwich. After a quick search on Google Maps I cane across this place. The team behind the counter were great and really polite. The sandwich was absolutely incredible and was just what I needed to start my day exploring Brooklyn! Definitely worth a visit! Possibly one of the best sandwiches I've ever had! Great places nearby for some excellent photos. PS I didn't cross the bridge, was too busy! I got a $4 ferry which had much better views!!!!
