The coffee shop is absolutely incredible in all aspects including food and drinks, service, and ambiance! For food, we ordered a breakfast Kathi-Rico and lemon cake. The Kathi-roll was flavorful and filling!! The owner even brought us speciality hot sauces (pictured here) for it. The lemon cake was so light, moist, and airy, tasted like lemon but not overwhelmingly so. For drinks, we ordered masala chai, nitro chai, and nescoffee. The masala chai was sweetened with jaggery, staying true to the authentic Indian roots. The nitro chai was especially delicious and perfectly balanced. It’s iced, not too sweet, not too milky as most chais are different cafes are. The service was also excellent. We met the owners of cafe, who are kind and sweet people. They answered all our questions and were very attentive. Their hospitality was evident in their attention to detail to our orders, the quality of the food, the overall service provided. The cafe also has a store that supports many Indian owned speciality brands. It’s clear that this is a shop that intends to invite everyone to explore Indian culture, cuisine, and hospitality. The ambiance was warm, inviting, and felt like home. Perfect to catch up with friends, go on a date night, or even just relax and unwind solo. I would absolutely recommend this cafe. 10/10 in...
Read moreI really wanted to like this place, unfortunately did not have a great experience here.
Everything is super overpriced and tastes average. Cheese Chilli toast took about 45 min to come after we ordered. It was super small in portion, so we decided to order a bowl of maggi (which was $25 or so, super overpriced, since you literally get it in grocery stores ready to cook for like $3-$5). It took them about an 1 hour 15 minutes to prep it (maggi’s tag line is that it takes 2 minutes to prep).
We asked about our maggi order repeatedly, and they kept saying it was going to take 5 minutes, until it took an hour and 15 minutes. Finally when the lady who made it arrived with our order, we expressed our disappointment and she was super rude about it. Told us that we were exaggerating the wait time and that she has to work super hard. Felt very demeaning and rude for the exorbitant amount of money we were paying for small sized portions and average food. Almost like she was doing us a favor by bringing us the food.
Rude, expensive, condescending and still raw in terms of business is how I would sum it up. I did like the decor in the cafe though - it felt cozy,...

If you’re looking for a breakfast spot that packs big flavors in a cozy setting, Fontainhas in Dumbo is a must-visit. This little restaurant surprised us in the best way possible with a unique and satisfying start to our day.
We began with their Royal Chai, and wow—it was unlike any chai I’ve had before. Rich, aromatic, and full of depth, it’s definitely a standout drink that sets the tone for the meal. You can tell the ingredients are carefully chosen, and it’s a perfect balance of spicy and sweet.
For the food, we tried the Breakfast Kathi-rito, which was a delightful twist on a classic breakfast wrap. The flavors were bold yet comforting, and it had that perfect mix of textures that makes every bite exciting. Alongside it, we had a bowl of Chicken and Tomato Soup, which was hearty, warm, and incredibly satisfying. It was the perfect balance of savory and slightly tangy, with just the right amount of spice.
Overall, Fontainhas offers simple, no-fuss dishes that are packed with flavor and creativity. We left feeling full and content, definitely looking forward to coming back for more.
A must save on...
