I don’t really know how to start. I traveled around the world and never have a similar experience to what I lived the 26th December. We booked the tour thru the app go city with our “tour guide” called J/Jay at 7pm.
We arrived 5 minutes late. Unluckily we missed some of the information but it’s something that might happen when taking public transport in a city like nyc. A few minutes after the tour has started I asked a question to the “tour guide” and he replied asking if I was in his tour, I answered affirmatively and he said “I already gave that information”. No jokes, no smiling, no irony, nothing, just a real answer from a”professional tour guide”
Few minutes later, as he commented that he was from Spain and my mother tongue is Spanish too, I approached him in Spanish asking if he could give me a quickly answer about my question, trying to have some empathy as we speak the same lenguage. He answered asking personal questions, asking where I am from where I felt Really discriminated as where I am from has nothing to do with my questions or the tour and is none of his business. In the great America feeling discriminated for my origin is kind of weird, sorry to say that, but it’s the truth. Then he proceeded to speak really fast (on purpose trying to get me lost and don’t get anything from the explanation) finishing with a “that’s a quickly answer”. Very rude and unprofessional.
As a personal tip, and as I heard you singing all the way during the tour I really recommend you trying a best luck as an actor,a singer or (even at the rocketlles) if you like it so much and seeing that a question during a touristic route piss you so much to don’t answer it twice it’s really clear that your passion is not being a tour guide. Good luck.

Read moreWe signed up for the 3pm 2 hour walking tour of Brooklyn with John. It took 39 minutes just to get to the end of the first block. It was cold, we were shivering, and our guide insisted on showing us pictures on his iPad for. We wanted to get moving and cover some ground. Instead we got a a PHD in a couple of rinky-dink murals.
I asked John if we could kind of move things along as we were cold and there was just another couple with a toddler, but at the next stop we got another long story about an artist and just left.
Some of these walking tours move faster than others. Don’t be afraid to cut bait if it drags out, or ask your guide ahead of time if this tour moves along at a decent pace. Also, if their iPad is covered in...
Read moreWe are SOOOOO. glad we took this tour. A bit out of the box for me, but it was perfect. We saw so much cool stuff, went to some great places and had a blast.
We went on a Saturday and our group included people from North Carolina, New York, England, Austria, Spain and Australia! Wonderful group. Our guide was very informative and had a great sense of humor!
Booked over 12,000 steps on the FITBIT so dress and wear shoes accordingly. Saw a lot of things we explored later during our stay, and will do more in the future.
Our daughter has been in Manhattan four years and was sure she would not like the tour, but she too, loved it. Again, I am so glad...
