My "Intro to the Wheel" class on Friday with Jack was AMAZING! This review is a bit overdue, but here goes! I have always been interested in pottery and am so glad that I found this class. Jack was an excellent teacher and shared many different ways to alter the shape of our clay. I had to restart a few times because my clay kept going off center lol, but the instructor was patient and helped me and my classmates get back on track as needed. I made 3 wonderful pieces, one of which I was able to give away as a gift for Christmas. THANKS SO MUCH FOR HELPING ME CREATE TIMELESS ART! Picking up my finished pottery later on was so satisfying knowing how hard I worked on it - I made a small bowl, a small plate and a mini sculpture of a foot (Jack was kind enough to let me play with some clay prior to the others arriving which is how I ended up making a foot haha - many thanks to him and all the wonderful staff there). I also met one of my now good friends at this pottery class :) LAST but not least, there was a little pottery sale and raffle for a free class at the end which was lovely, Maison Clay seems to be a great social hub for those interested in the arts, as well as those cultivating more self-love - everyone looked so happy to be there. I'm glad to have had this experience and I can't wait to save up and take class again soon. Totally take this class 10/10 !!!

My friends and I went to Maison Clay for a fun Sunday activity and we all had the most incredible time doing the Intro class with Jacob! We have all tried a few different places together, and this was by far our favorite and the best!! Jacob was kind, patient, and gave very specific helpful feedback to each person in my group. He did a demo, in which he showed techniques, then we worked at the same time step by step, before a final third round where we practiced the steps on our own as he came around to guide us as necessary. The class price includes keeping one choice piece from what you make, with flexibility and options to pay for keeping more if wanted. Jacob’s calm attitude was very grounding and motivating. My group and I cannot wait to come back! Thanks for everything, Jacob and Maison Clay!

My friends and I have been to other clay studios before, and Maison Clay cannot compete. Our instructor, Jacob was exceptional. He was so hands-on, patient, and informative. He catered to us based off our pain points and struggles in the Clay making process and what we wanted to learn. We walked out with so much knowledge. What stood out to me the most is that the whole class (including Jacob) did the same steps all together one time, and then the rest we did solo. We didn’t find that other studios did this. 12/10 experience. Would take this class again in a second. Jacob is THE best. Couldn’t be happier.

I went to the Intro to the Wheel and left with really valuable wheelthrowing skills! I learned a lot—Jacob is very meticulous & direct in his teaching style, which set up the class today to be a more focused one. He will tell you if a piece is unusable immediately and throw it away, don’t take it personally— he just wants you to create a practical piece. You can tell that he’s super passionate about teaching. I also asked a lot of questions and he answered all of them ◡̈

Jacob’s also very attentive and will help you out if you’re struggling (like me haha). As someone who’s had 0 experience on the wheel and with clay, it was a bit rough because I’m not super coordinated with everything but that’s to be expected. A lot of us in the class made quirky pieces, which was actually the fun part to be reminded it’s about the process.

The studio is clean & has great light. I really appreciate the more affordable rates provided here compared to other studios around the city. The class price includes glazing & firing. I can’t wait to make more pieces & become more comfortable...

I had the pleasure of attending a one-time pottery wheel class led by the Jacob at his meticulously organized studio, and the experience left a lasting impression on me. Despite being a single session, Jacob expertly structured the class into clear and digestible steps, allowing us to delve into the art of pottery with ease and clarity. His guidance through each part of the process was not only informative but also incredibly engaging, making the intricate techniques of pottery wheel throwing accessible. What truly stood out was the level of organization and attention to detail in the studio and in Jacob’s thoughtful instruction. His expertise shone through in the way he seamlessly guided us through the intricacies of pottery wheel throwing. I wholeheartedly recommend Maison Clay’s pottery wheel classes to anyone seeking a fulfilling and educational artistic endeavor. My sincerest thanks to Jacob for providing such a memorable and enriching experience in such a meticulously...
