I've recently started going to New Natural Hair Salon because my stylist Evon works there now. She has been doing my hair for more than 10 years, and I would follow her to the end of the earth. She has done my hair from every length imginable from down my mid back, to a bob just above my shoulders; through blunt bangs, curtain bangs; straight cut, layers; body waves; and almost every shade of brown (even red once!) After years of having virgin hair, I took the plunge to color it again, and Evon was respectful of the fact that I did not want to use bleach and brought my vision to life in a healthier way.

That being said, New Natural has been one of the cleanest and nicest salons I've followed her to. The space is open and kept neat. It does not feel cramped or as opposing as most salons along Avenue U tend to feel. The other staff are very nice and seem to interact well with their customers. With all the options available in the neighborhood, you know a place is good when they have a lot of regulars. Today I had 3 haircuts at the place, for my 2 boys and for myself. The total was only $35!!!! The haircuts are PERFECTION!!! I was welcomed at the very entrance with smiles and the warmest atmosphere. The place was clean with enough space in the waiting area. Usually my husband would take the boys there, and they never had bad haircuts. So, it wasn't just one time luck. And the attitude!!! Unclean. I came here for a haircut a while back (I had come here before), I saw that the stylist (had not cut my hair before) just cut some sweaty person. I asked the hair person to disinfect the scissors he was about to use on me, (simply just dip it in that disinfectant container for hair tools I see right behind him).
