I'm thrilled to share my exceptional experience with Crunch Gym on 83rd Street, a truly outstanding fitness facility that stands out in the crowded gym scene of New York City. From the moment I walked through the doors, I was impressed by the positive energy and motivating atmosphere that permeates every aspect of the gym.
The equipment at Crunch Gym is top-of-the-line, with a vast array of machines, free weights, and cardio equipment to cater to all fitness levels and goals. Whether you're a seasoned athlete or just starting out on your fitness journey, you'll find everything you need to achieve your goals. The gym is always immaculately clean and well-maintained, creating a comfortable and inviting workout environment that makes you want to push yourself to new heights.
One of the standout features of Crunch Gym is the incredible range of group fitness classes offered. From high-energy spin classes that will get your heart racing to calming yoga sessions that will help you unwind, there's something for everyone to enjoy. The instructors are knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and dedicated to helping you achieve your fitness goals. The class schedule is convenient and flexible, with a variety of options to suit even the busiest of schedules.
But what truly sets Crunch Gym apart is the exceptional staff. From the front desk team to the personal trainers, everyone is friendly, approachable, and always willing to lend a helping hand. Whether you're new to fitness or a seasoned gym-goer, you'll feel welcomed and supported by the team at Crunch. They take a genuine interest in your fitness journey, offering guidance, motivation, and encouragement every step of the way.
The amenities at Crunch Gym are also top-notch, with amenities such as towel service, locker rooms, and a juice bar to help you refuel after your workout. The gym is also conveniently located, making it easy to fit in a workout on your way to or from work.
Overall, Crunch Gym on 83rd Street is a fantastic fitness facility that truly goes above and beyond to provide a positive and motivating workout experience for its members. With its state-of-the-art equipment, incredible group fitness classes, and exceptional staff, it's the perfect place to achieve your fitness goals and feel great while doing it. Read moreI've had two bad experiences with sales staff at Crunch 83rd St. I am a member and was offered guest passes by email. When I tried to bring two friends (who are crunch members at another location) and use guest passes, the sales staff (John Radzik) saw they had non local ID and wanted to charge them $35 each and when we said we would leave, offered to charge $10.
Similarly, I brought a friend from work (we have a corporate deal with crunch) to try to convince her to join the gym. She got a 3 day trial pass, the sales staff said it wasn't valid despite her living here (false advertisement? Look at the site: https://info.crunch.com/free-trial-3-day-a). She lives in NY but only brought her passport ID and the sales staff was interrogating whether she actually lived in NY? Besides that he was just super rude.
I emailed Ali Schulman (83rd st. General Manager) and she informed me this local ID rule is not an actual rule and that she would give me store credit for their $10 they paid. I said I wanted them refunded to their cards and was ghosted. I followed up and she said she was waiting for corporate approval for this charge from a month ago. Either she's lying or Crunch Corporate hasn't equipped her to deal with these issues.
I have read other reviews from the past year and later and it seems sales staff constantly uses these fake local ID rules to keep people out or to charge for day passes. Its absolutely sleazy and its clear management knows its happening if not requiring it themselves, i.e. John Radzik should know better. Either Crunch needs to clarify its policies online or retrain the whole sales staff. I'll be sending this complaint to the FTC Division of...
Read moreWell-equipped gym in a great location. Good mix of machines and free weights (multiple sets of dumbbells and racks). I went around 9:00 AM and while busy, I didn't have to wait long for a machine or bench to become available.
Big props to John at the front desk - very helpful and hospitable!
I've been a member of Equinox and New York Sports club and while this gym doesn't have the amenities of an Equinox, it's more upscale and roomier than the New York Sports club locations I've been to.
I didn't need to put anything away but the locker room was clean and seemed big enough.
The gym is three stories: first floor is front desk, locker rooms, and a small functional workout area. The bottom floor is a larger functional workout area and for group classes. The second floor is free weights, machines, cardio equipment, and a small stretching area.
The one negative I found was there didn't feel like much space to do any kind of stretching on a mat: I was only able to find a couple smaller spaces and they were all taken. But I only spent an hour there so maybe I just didn't see it.
Overall I'd definitely return to this location when visiting the...
