Duane Reade — Local services in New York

I would give 0 stars of it was an option! As usual, absolutely ROTTEN customer service as w-most WalGreen & Duane Reade stores! Always short staffed & the employees that are 'working' are always discussing personal stuff (extremely rude, unprofessional & unmotivated) among themselves rather than attempting to assist customers. This obviously makes a clear statement as 2 the organizations questionable culture & values, as well as lack of efficient management since it is always the same story at any location ---(outside of NYC as well). I can only assume they stay in business, as do quite a few of these 'chain' operations, because of multiple locations, extended hours & sometimes a good price. Customers will continue 2 take a chance 2 not inconvenience themselves. Well, that has back fired 4 the last time on me. I have 2 say: Shame on me!! I know better but opted to take the chance 2 pick up ONE item on the way 2 my place. By the time I waited & put up w-the nonsense, I would have fared better taking a cab or walking further & going anywhere in Manhattan rather than one of these miserable...

Big Thank You to DR employee "Junior" at the 65TH Street and 3RD Avenue location on the UES tonight (1.2.25). Excellent Customer Service!!! Full disclosure: I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed. Tonight I was wearing earbuds. I'm also wearing ear warmers over them (I'm delicate). In the process of taking off said ear muffs, in the store, I managed to launch one of my buds off my head. I mean, this thing "sling shotted" off my stupid dome to destination unknown. JR appears and continues to spend a LEGIT 10 minutes with me crawling on the floor, climbing shelves, surgically unpacking shelves and repacking them labels out. It's rare these days to find someone that really gives good customer service. This Was Next Level. Thank you sir for your attention, professionalism and actually giving a damn!!! I came here to kill some time before my dinner reservation and to stock up on some snacks. The store has two entrances and has two wheel chair ramps available. The store is big and very clean. The staff was polite and quick. When I was ringing up my order, the cashier told me about a sale they had on the items I purchased. That I would be saving money if I bought one more item. Unfortunately, the store didn't have more in stock so, I couldn't take advantage of the promotion. The store does have quite a few sales that weren't listed...
