I showed up 50 seconds past the start time (according to my garmin, so may have been off slightly from iPhone timing) and the doors were locked. No where does it mention the 1 min late policy on the ClassPass email. It does say doors close if youāre late, but it does not say if you show up 50 seconds into the start time (thatās technically still 10:00, letās be real) that doors will be closed.
More importantly, I feel frustrated that the instructor made me sit through a 10-min demo at the start of class instead of being blunt and asking me to simply leave due to me being ālate.ā I understand perhaps they werenāt trying to embarrass me in front of the rest of the class, but I would have preferred to simply be told late arrivals arenāt allowed to attend so I didnāt waste 10 minutes thinking Iād be doing the workout.
This was my first time and a really bad impression. I understand that with one coach, it would be difficult to have me take another minute of class to sign the waiver. I get that. But really, most studios have this done when you make the reservation. It seems a better system could be in place for that to avoid situations like this.
The instructor was friendly, nothing against her, but it was an overall incredibly poor first impression. I felt very unwelcomed and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place feels like it's run by scammers. I never feel compelled to write negative reviews, but wow. Got there at 9am today for a 9am class, doors were UNLOCKED, by the time I walked from front door to front desk it was 9:01am and I was told I can't participate in the workout, as I'm standing there watching them explain the workout (so the liability excuse feels ridiculous). Person working the front desk said "she was doing something on her computer and lost track of time to lock the door", even though (1) that's not my fault and (2) I was downstairs mid-convo with her at only 9:01am. The sign on the door says doors lock after 1 min and no entry, but I think it's safe to assume that since I arrived and the door was OPEN, I would be able to participate. I've been to a dozen f45 studios and have never seen such a ridiculous policy. It was my first time so they waived the cancel fee (least they could've done) but this place honestly feels like a scam to get more late cancel fees. Never seen a studio with such an unreasonable policy. I obviously won't be back but hope they do...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve been a loyal F45 member for years, but the Midtown East NYC location has been my worst experience by far. I arrived right at 6:30 p.m. for a 6:30 class, only to be turned away at the door. They claimed a strict āno exceptionsā late policy, even though the class hadnāt started yet. This rule isnāt posted anywhere official, nor is it mentioned when you sign up. No other F45 studio Iāve attended enforces anything like this.
It feels like theyāre turning people away on purpose just to charge no-show fees. Recent reviews show Iām not the only one this has happened to. If thereās a late policy, it should be clear, written down, and shared with every memberānot sprung on people at the door.
There was no manager on site to address the issue, and the front desk staff, offered no real help nor could she provide a written copy of the alleged policy upon request.
This location is disorganized, unprofessional, and dishonest. Save yourself the frustrationāgo to a different F45 studio that respects its members and communicates its...
