To Professor Tanya K. Hernández who wrote op ed on anti blackness within the Latino community. That same sentiment black folks have for Latinos, in fact I would argue that there’s no way Latinos or Mexicanos could be racist by your dialectics because one Hispanic/latino/mexicanos are a vast mixture of different cultural back grounds and two Hispanic/Latinos/mexicanos experience racism similar to what black folk experience, and lastly cant forget that Hispanic Latino Mexicanos the majority of which doesn’t speak English making it very difficult to be discriminatory / prejudice towards other MINORITIES. You’re like the kids on TikTok baiting others into creating content that will some how expose their racism but you forget that the very laws written into the constitution were designed not for black folk or Latinos, it was designed for the colonizers and for our kinds to blame one another like you have. It’s crazy hearing this specially from a supposed educator, ma’am you've been allowed to push a false narrative into mainstream and now there are those in your own community who use your ideology against innocent people experiencing hate and racism from the anti colorists that are here in America. Don't point the finger at other victims point the finger at your oppressor because even if Latinos weren’t around you’d still have the dominating class that will do racism and discriminating. Your paper actually enrages me and reminds me that this entire nation (if you can even call it that anymore) has so much growing up to do and it'll have to start with individuals in influential and educational positions to speak out against divisive propaganda/rhetoric, bridge bonds between communities not further inflame the already broken or weak points in the relations and or coalitions. This type of narrow thinking has to be...
Read moreI rarely post negative comments, but in this case I feel it is more than appropriate. I was recently denied admission to the Fordham School of Law JD program, despite my almost perfect GPA score from the top school in this country (earned during the height of COVID epidemic) and LSAT score which falls into top percentile range. In addition, I spend several years working in the legal division of the International Refugees Projects in Africa and Europe (for which I received high praises from my supervisors) . Yet, as I mentioned, my JD application was denied. And, to add insult to injury, when I inquired about the reason for this denial, I received the letter from Dean of Admissions Brown “Your achievements are impressive, but we favor applicants with lower scores and deny admission to applicants with the higher scores” THIS IS HIS ACTUAL QUOTE!!! WHAT??? Am I being punished for my high achievements? Does Fordham Law favor mediocre applicants over the top ones?? This is an extremely appalling and ridiculous!! Well, I will surely keep it in mind, the next time I meet JD graduate from Fordham Law. I truly hope this posting would make some prospective applicants think twice about applying to...
