I've been thinking about this for over a week and just can't NOT leave this review. I'm a pretty good FP patron--probably spend $2000+ annually. I've visited this particular store for the past two previous summers and had great experiences. Last week I went in, and not one of the three associates acknowledged my presence except when one of them accidentally backed into me when tidying a rack. (Did she even notice my presence?) I said, excuse me and she didn't say a word. I had gone in dying to try on a skirt, which I would have purchased if I had liked the look, but I left because the vibe was icy cold (and Im not talking AC here.)
That experience really left a bad taste for me, so I decided to go back five days later to try to capture a better vibe. That definitely didn't happen. Again, no acknowledgement of my presence. I felt like I was in the way because one associate was going back and forth from the back hallway where the dressing rooms are. (She did say excuse me once, which was nice) However, she was in the back and stayed there until I moved out of her way so she could pass by again. I don't know what the deal with this particular store is, I mean, BOTH times I was wearing my FreeP clothes, (Quinn pants and my super cute Palmer shorts and Hummingbird tank), so it's not like I appeared like I wouldn't buy something. If these girls work on commission, big mistake. AND though I'll be in Brooklyn for another three weeks, and this store is just down the block, I will not be going in.
Does anyone have suggestions for being acknowledged...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI donāt usually leave negative reviews, but my experience at this store was disappointing and confusing. I came in to return a pair of unworn shoes I ordered online that were a size too small. The store refused the return because I didnāt have the original box, something they claimed was policy, though I couldnāt find any mention of this online.
I called Free People customer service, and they assured me that not having the original box shouldnāt be an issue. They apologized on the storeās behalf, emailed me a return label, and let me know that UPS would provide a box for the return.
What made the situation worse was the overall vibe. I didnāt feel welcome, and I couldnāt shake the feeling that I was being treated differently. I honestly left wondering if it had something to do with my race. Regardless, I knew the information I was being given in-store wasnāt accurate.
I shop at Free People often, but after this experience, I wonāt be returning to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went to try on some jeans and at first the experience was nice, but when they didnāt have my size and I decided to order them to be shipped, they couldnāt do it because I didnāt have my physical card, which I completely understand. However, the associateās attitude changed immediately after that. I still bought a bra, but when she asked for my email she was really rude, saying āI told you to specifically check if the email was correct.ā It made me feel so uncomfortable, thatās not good customer service. I was planning to come back with my card and buy two pairs of jeans, but after that experience Iāll go to another...
