Have been going to GU for the past 1.5+ years and finally writing a review lol

Staff is fun, other reviews might see them come off as cold which was what I thought initially too but once you come back a couple of times you realize they’re a very chill group of people. They definitely know their product and their stock 10/10 on market knowledge.

There’s a few things that stood out to me that made me realize this: I once bought a bunch of pikachu cards from them and they gave me a pikachu dice bag lol. After getting over collecting pokemon, I picked up some TCG games and played at GU. Crowd was mostly nice and welcoming.

There was also one time another customer tried to cut in front of me while I was looking through the common binders and the employee stood up for me and told them to wait since I wasn’t finished - shout out to that guy (he prob doesn’t remember this but I do)

With no exaggeration whatsoever, I can say that this is the best TCG shop in all five boroughs. I have been to Montasy Comics, Store of Fire and Dice, Gamestoria, Twenty Sided Store, etc... many times, and there is simply no other store that has the same level of customer service, great inventory, fair prices and awesome community. Never will you walk into this store and feel unwelcome, ripped off or bored. Shin, the owner, is genuinely passionate about what he does and is always willing to talk or give information on whatever questions you might have. Attended a commander draft event here, and I must say it was a very enjoyable time. I loved how they distributed the prize pack, giving everyone at least 2 packs one of the best prize distributions I have seen. The store has plenty of items regardless of which card game you play and are reasonably priced. They have some drinks available for the players and a large selection of card sleeves. The store is surrounded by great places to eat. So if you enjoy playing MTG or Pokémon or battle spirits along with many more, this place is definitely worth a visit. You will not be disappointed.
