Glow Lash — Local services in New York

I went to Glow Lash today. A very disappointing experience. I bought the hybrid Groupon for $81 for hybrid lash extensions. Made an appointment for today.

When I arrived the man with whom I'd made the appointment acted like he didn't know I had made an appointment. The place was completely empty and yet he said he had to check if he could take me. I showed him my voucher and he said that even though I had bought the hybrid lash service, I was going to receive only the "classic" lashes, which does not include volume lashes. I said I wanted what I purchased, not a lesser lash service. He argued with me for ten minutes over this, in the totally empty shop, over a few pieces of lashes. He kept saying that I would only get individual lashes, not volume, no matter what I had bought. Mind you, I had half a set of lashes already on from my previous application, so there was not that much for them to do anyway. I insisted on getting what I bought, and he reluctantly agreed, but only after saying he wanted me to leave and would refund my money. All because I wanted what I had paid for. It left a bad taste, but I wanted lashes done.

I had them done. The lashes turned out just ok. Certainly not nearly as full as what they advertise, especially considering I had half of the lashes on already from my previous application. Very stingy service.

Bottom line: petty attitude, they don't want to honor what they offer, and the lashes themselves are thin...

Today will be my third experience here at Glow Lash. I'm thrilled! This place is clean, the technichians are attentive and the end result - my lash extensions look so natural and really make my eyes pop! I attend my local Y and the gals tell me -- they LOVE the way my lashes look and that they make me appear -- younger! That's music to anyone's ears. They tell me -- they look so natural that they thought I was wearing mascara. I really love this location -- to me the price is fair and the results make this visit totally worth it. PLUS - it's nearly across from Bloomindale's; it's easy to get to - I make an appt online -- It takes about an hour and voile! I feel fresh - my eyes look so pretty and the lashes last. The technicians here are very skilled and they're so polite. Really happy. Treat yourself. Thing is -- once you get them - and i never thought I'd be one to say this -- but once you have them -- you won't ever want to be without them. It's an instant lift and makeover. The first time I came the guy in the front was very kind. He gave me the option to tip. I tipped because the service was great and the lady who did my lashes was very gentle, I loved the results and my eyes did not burn. I came today for the 2nd time and the lady in the front was forcing tips on customers. The lady who did my lashes was kind and gentle. When she was done it was a little difficult to open my eyes and my eyes were burning. When it was time to pay the lady in the front said “tip cash or card” I said “no tip” she said it again and I said “ no tip” she said “ I don’t understand”. As we kept going back and forth I noticed she kept having an attitude and started getting hostile. She said “ the tip is not included in the price” I said “ I know, no tip”. Then I proceeded to ask her “do I have to?” She said “ yes” so I said okay 2 dollars. I love that it was very relaxing in there but don’t let anyone force you into tipping especially if you don’t want to & or like the service. You have the option to...
