BEWARE!!! THIS PLACE IS A SCAM!! I am very sorry, I am not one to write reviews for any businesses, positive or negative, but this nail salon is a SCAM and should not be in business. It is an embarrassment to the Chelsea neighborhood and should not be in business. I have lived in Chelsea for many years, I found this business through an online search for BIAB, a Singaporean product. They advertised that they carried this product. I called to make an appointment, they do not pick up phone calls and only respond in text messages requesting to make appointments online. I proceeded to make an appointment through their website, which requests a 50% deposit for services. I arrived for my services, I was very kind and friendly with the owner. She does not make eye contact, smile or talk the entire time during the service. Extremely unwelcoming, especially if you live in the neighborhood. The BIAB product was fake, not real BIAB. The manicure was the most expensive manicure I ever had in NYC, with the worst service I ever received. I proceeded to have a pedicure, she was too lazy to fill the bowl with enough water to soak your feet, very unprofessional. She is too lazy to even give a massage with the pedicure. She proceeded to tell me I had nail fungus on one of my nails and told me she would not paint the toe. At the same time, her next appointment arrived. At that time, she did not paint any of the toe nails. She told me I would contaminate her nail polish. She said to soak my feet for a week, see the doctor and if it clears up, she can paint the toes. As per her guidance, I visited the doctor, there was NO FUNGUS, the doctor laughed at the situation. I called the salon back to nicely request my appointment to finish the nail paint and the owner got defensive, told me she never said I had fungus and requested a letter from my doctor releasing me for a pedicure, like we were in grammar school. I did not argue, even though this situation was crazy, I got the letter and called to make an appointment to finish the service, since it had been paid in full. The owner refused to make good on the service by not answering my calls or texts. I have never experienced anything like this in my life, it is a complete scam!!!...
Read moreRegrettably, I was a loyal customer here for almost a full year and am disappointed by the lack of customer loyalty appreciation in addition to the inconsistency of the service you receive. Gold Room Nails is not worth it and other nail places in the city are much more affordable who do a better job and have a better overall experience. I referred my friend here and regretted it because staff was incredibly rude to her, it was embarrassing. I was doing builder gel and one of the new nail techs completely destroyed my nails when removing the gel that it took months to recover. One time I asked for a simple style and was scheduled with the new nail tech who kept failing and I ended up walking out with a plain color after 1+ hours of her trying. These nails were meant for my med school graduation... What finally made me give up on this place is as a health care professional and loyal customer I was granted zero forgiveness for not cancelling my nail appointment ahead of time (per policy) even though I explained there was a medical emergency last minute and did my best to make it, I received no compassion, no partial refund, or discount. Not to mention the time period where the owner had her puppy's weewee pad with his excrements in the salon which was really gross and not a clean/relaxing environment when spending as much money as they charge. Glad I finally found a...
Read moreI definitely wanted this to be my permanent go to spot for my nails but unfortunately I didn’t feel like the tech was very welcoming. I went 3 times for a structured mani. First time I went I noticed that but figured I would give another try, Second time she seemed more welcoming but I guess thats because she was on live while doing my nails, Third time she probably said all of 5 words the whole appointment, seemed like she just wanted to get it over with it was very awkward. The prices on the site also don’t match what you end up paying. Structured mani is $70, you pay a $45 deposit but yet my total was $67??? The math didn’t register to me until after I left because I was too focused on getting out of there. Don’t get me wrong I loved my nails, but I feel like if you want loyal customers you should definitely considered being more welcoming and personable. I wont return but definitely hope the business...
