I've been to several gyms in Manhattan. GYM NYC E 3rd is by far the best gym I've been to. My most recent gym before switching was the Stuytown gym, which isn't the most friendly when it comes to Olympic lifts. I decided to give GYM NYC a whirl shortly after it opened. Although it was a longer walk for me by about 10 minutes, the quality was night and day.
There are several squat racks, a smith machine, flat and incline benches, and a huge selection of dumbbells. There's also plenty of cardio equipment.

The staff is friendly, courteous and are always happy to lend a hand. It's not a hight pressure environment and they seem very flexible on the singe up side. I am a VP of HR in Tech and travel to NYC monthly for business this is the best gym in the city that has not only impeccable customer service but a familial staff that loves seeing you again. The GM Julio Ramos, and his trainers are a class act. Pablo is also a great asset who always recommends me the best cafes and local new hot spots when I visit.
