I headed here on a nice breezy Sunday to finish some work and finish some sunday light shopping check around soho.
I was heading to a a little lounge to sit down and happened to pass by this glorious market.
Happier is quite known for their exquisite marketing experience but I’ve never heard about their fine art of making graceful drinks of coffee and chai. I was quite stunned when i saw a whole stand of espresso machines and everything when i walked in. Even though it was already quite late into the day, their pastry and drinks election were quite diverse and clearly had a lot to offer; from their hibsicuz glazed donuts, matcha chocolate chip cookies, lavender matcha latte to their cardamom rose latte. Quite a nice classy selection of desserts and fine drinks that just make your Sunday feel very fulfilled. After I finally was able to settle on making a decision being the matcha cookie and a refreshing rose cardamom latte. I will have time to say they really did hit the spot and made my day quite fulfilling, what I loved about the rose cardamom was that albeit using a shay premix it was able to maintain the flavor of the different spices and wasn’t overwhelming sweet which really helped me enjoy my shay as a usual shay enthusiast. The matcha cookie was pretty light and tasty, which surprisingly paired very well with the latte
I’d have to say the coffee and pastry definitely did hit and were very neatly made; which make my whole shopping experience after much more pleasant and refreshing.
The atmosphere and ambiance of the interior design of rose was absolutely terrific ! Very relaxing and laid-back yet inviting, complimenting the market’s design with a minimalistic design style, yet very elegant and detailed in design that really reflected perfectly into the café.
Lastly I’d like to highlight the friendliness of the waiters and staff that accommodated us so nicely although. The service at the barista stand of Happier, they were very gracious! The staff were so friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed throughout ou little sit down. It definitely added to making my experience one to remember! Sky and Christian, the baristas, were truly nice: very positive and inviting individual, helped with recommendations, personal drinks and sweets they enjoyed, and everything!
I really cannot stress enough on how amazing my experience was at Happier was: this must be a go to spot if you are in the area and need a good dose of caffeine to give a kick to start your day. Whole heartedly I really loved my experience at Rose, very palatable to the majority and packed with great flavor! All in all, a top rated experience, and I can assure you I’m definitely coming...
Read moreAs a loyal customer of about a year my review is after countless shopping sprees at Happier. In the first 6 months I thought that it elevated the neighborhood quality of life having organic kitchen on Canal st. The stuff, the cashiers all were so sweet, kind, excited. The feeling that something great is happening was in the air. Then it blew up on Instagram and became super trendy hot spot filled with fashion crowd. Prices jumped by 20%, the chef must have moved to their catering biz as Quality disappeared, consistency went out of the window. No one follows recipes, things look the same but flavor wise revolting. The store has a tel line but preferred to disconnect it for 6+ months and when they finally re connected the line it’s by chance or luck that the new inept management will pick it up. The organic gluten free refined sugar free bakery was replaced by popular main stream baked goods. The juice bar remains a hit or miss surprise. On Monday I’d be lucky to buy delicious soup and on Thursday the same soup is watered down 1:1 with barely any flavor nor body. Same with the entire prepared food bar. If you don’t catch it on time you are charged $25 a pound for 1/2 a lemon with your fish Red bell pepper $8.99 a pound ( $3.49 every other small grocery ) same with so many other items that seem like they sent someone to a near by shop to buy and mark up x 2.2 Yes at first it looked like the owners went to Erewhan took a video of all that’s on their shelves to order for their new store down to Erewhon Taco Tuesday that didn’t last, it lacked flavor.
what was at the early days is long forgotten, I lost my hope for improvement so now I regard it as a joke. Sometimes funny but mostly not. I hope the shop will fold and Erewhon will take over and set the records straight - charge as you like but...
Read moreI usually come here because the food is very accommodating to my autoimmune disability, and I appreciate having a place where I can find nourishing options.
Unfortunately, during my recent visit, I had a very difficult experience. While I was sitting down with my salad, two large dogs came near me and touched me. I have both trauma and allergies related to dogs, so this left me feeling unsafe, anxious, and physically unwell. I had to get up twice in fear, which spiked my stress and triggered an inflammatory response in my body. Instead of the food being healing, the stress made it feel heavy, like blocks in my stomach, and I now need to seek remedies to calm the inflammation after visiting this store.
When I asked the cashier if dogs were allowed, his response was dismissive and left me feeling as though my health and safety didn’t matter. There was no apology, no effort to accommodate my situation, and no request for the owner to keep the dogs closer to her.
I value this store for the quality of its food, but I hope management will consider policies that also take into account customers with allergies, disabilities, and trauma. Everyone deserves to feel safe while eating in a holistic and healing environment.
I would be happy to update this review in the future if I see changes that show more care for both customers...
