This was my very first facial, so I was a bit nervous. The people here were really nice and accommodating. Some emergency came up on the morning of my appointment, I thought I can't make it there on time, so I called to ask if they can move my appointment to 30 min later slot. It was already 1 hour before my original appointment at that time, but they worked with me and told me no problem. I ended up being able to get there on time, and they put me into earlier spot than the re-scheduled time which was great.
I chose 50 min facial ($95), and my main concern was blackheads on my nose. It is out of control.. it is like blackheads family decided to take residence on my nose, invited all the relatives, had babies and grand babies, and kept on growing the number on my nose. I usually go to my best friend, BiorƩ nose strip for help, but it can only remove maybe half the blackheads (if I'm lucky), and they come back within a couple of days.
My aesthetician, Alvina was great, listened to my daily routine (which is almost non-existing), evaluated my skin, and recommended me to add a deeper cleaning (peel, $35) since my skin needed extra help (I knew it did need some REAL help).
She explained everything she was doing during the facial. She told me that the nose strip isn't really the solution, and my skin really needed facials. She worked on my blackheads and was telling me how different it will look compared to the nose strip. She was excited to show me my skin, and I could not wait to see the result.
When I stood in front of a big mirror they have, my reaction was "WOW!!!" My nose was so clean, most of the black heads were gone, and yes, sooooo different from the nose strip! My skin looked clean, shiny (not greasy but had a lot of cream and lotion stuff on it), and really healthy.
She said "imagine If your skin can look this good after one facial, how much better it can look if you continue with your facial?" I hear you... I loved my facial and this will not be the end, it is just the beginning.
She recommend me three products, and asked me several times if I was comfortable with the price (yes they were pricey) of the products she was recommending. They were not cheap, by any means, but it is something that will last 6 months or so (as I was told), and therefore it is not something I need to buy so often. We only get one skin, so I said my skin is worth the price.
They have construction going on right next door, so the noise of construction was a bit distracting, and since the set up is king of open, separated only by curtains, I could hear other people talking too. But mostly it was relaxing and peaceful. When everything was quiet enough, I could here some background music. It was a fun experience, and my...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI donāt think it was worth the price point. I made an appointment for the 50 minute facial because I wanted to pamper myself. The day of the facial, I left my home without my wallet and had to return to get it, so I rescheduled my 1pm to 8:30pm. Upon coming home, I got my period and was in immense pain. I called them again to reschedule for a different day and the lady told me it would be a $25 fee. I told her that I wasnāt given a fee before and she said it was their policy. I told her that I would rather come at 8:30pm and then never make an appointment again. I made this appointment to pamper myself but instead it became a chore, and I came in with cramping pains and honestly did not want to be there. Keith was my esthetician and he was very nice and soft spoken. He was nice during the process, but I donāt think overall the experience was worth $95. It was my first facial ever so I donāt even have anything to compare it to, but it just didnāt feel like anything I couldnāt do at home. Also, I donāt like that they donāt put their gratuity anywhere on the site. I was confused whether to tip or not, and at the end of the facial the desk lady asked if I wanted to pay their ā28% suggested gratuityā. Are you kidding me? There are people in restaurants busting their behind on 10 hour shifts and even then the customary tip is 20%. They even suggest a MINIMUM 20%. I still gave a $20 tip to Keith because he was very kind but I believe 28% is a bit steep. Overall, I wonāt come back, and I think if your friend puts a face mask on you, itāll be the same feeling. Donāt...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI recently had my first Heyday facial experience and it was incredible! My daughter frequents the Rittenhouse Heyday in Philadelphia and set us up for facials.
I arrived to a glowing atmosphere, greeted by a most gracious host and proceeded to fill out a digital questionnaire filled with important questions about my skin, products and preferences for being touched, which I appreciated.
Egypt, my Esthetician, guided me past softly curtained rooms, the golden glowing light continued throughout the space. The tables are unlike I've seen, very professional and super comfortable. Egypt offered me blankets, pillows for my neck and under my knees. And I spent the rest of my time in a dreamland !!!
Egypt followed all of my preferences while patiently answering all my questions. Educating me on skin care and the products she chose to use, while allowing for casual conversation. Taking special care to be gentle and mindful, always asking if I was okay. Egypts confident approach eased my mind.
My skin never felt tight or dry throughout the facial, not even for a second. The scents of the products she used were delicate and lovely, nothing overpowering. Now that I know the drill, next time I will let myself fall asleep!
I was also able to make in store purchases for products Egypt used. Check out was seamless. I left feeling beautiful, calm and nurtured.
Follow up emails arrived quickly, checking in on me and my skin, with links to my products and gentle skin care reminders, all leaving me feeling connected and excited for my next...
