I ordered a large gelato with 4 flavors from this location today at around 9 pm. I was deceived by the long line assuming that this place was popular for a reason. I was very wrong. Two of the flavors from the 4 I selected were incorrect and disproportionate as there was a very large amount of one flavor over the other. I specifically sampled the flavors before choosing so that I could get the ones that I wanted. However, when I realized that two of the flavors were not the ones I had asked for and informed the server about it, he refused to change the flavor for me. He kept arguing with me and saying that I am wrong and that I had asked for dark chocolate instead of nougat. As a customer who knows what they ordered, how is the server going to tell me what I ordered when I know exactly what I said. That is just crazy. Also, was given cake batter flavor instead of pistachio which tasted nothing like pistachio. He also argued that we had sampled pistachio and that is what he gave. It is impossible that they were even the same considering I was the one sampling it not him. Extremely bad service and very rude servers who will give you attitude over their own mistakes. Also the price is very overpriced and not worth it. A "large" cup of gelato was almost $13 which is insane especially when I had to throw out two of the incorrect flavors. Will never return to this place and was very disappointed. To make matters worse i found pieces of plastic in the gelato as well. I have attached pictures of the piece, which i bit and almost broke my...
Read moreI am a big gelato lover and I have tasted gelato across the US (yea I am too broke to go to Italy yet) and I have a very strong favorite that I am gatekeeping sooooo hard. Actually two — one in SoCal and one in Seattle. But hey follow me on Insta @sincerefoodiemia and maybe I will share them there.
Anyways, this place be the best gelato I had on the east coast. To be fair, still second to my favorite shop in SoCal that I will be gatekeeping on Google Maps but it was very good.
Love that they let you taste some of the gelato beforehand, definitely helps indecisive me come to a decision quicker lol
I got the medium gelato with mango sorbet, pistachio and tiramisu. tbh thought that the portion size was too small for the whole thing costing close to $11 but hey NYC yea
But I mean in my SoCal shop I get heaping amounts for $9 😭
Anyhoo we both loved mango sorbet the most it’s so refreshing and tastes like mango it’s like Haagen Daaz creamy mango but more real mangoes and elevated truthful honest mango yummy taste.
Also loved pistachio and tiramisu, they both definitely tasted like what they advertised to be, I liked the tiramisu more because it tasted like I am eating the best Italian restaurant’s tiramisu but in gelato form.
Amazing, would be back if I am in the area and they are on my way.
The interior is so clean and nice and pretty and aesthetic all my Insta pic lovers this is the spot for all...
Read moreIf Broadway had a scent, it would be part city air, part ambition, and—if you’re lucky—freshly made waffle cones wafting from Anita Gelato.
Yes, the line was long. Yes, it was moving at the speed of existential reflection. But let’s be honest: if you’re getting gelato on a busy New York street, you’re not in a rush—you’re in pursuit of a small, frozen miracle.
I tried the White Chocolate and Pistachio Cream, and let me tell you: this is pistachio for people who like a little flair with their nuttiness. It leans sweeter than the traditional Sicilian-style, but not in a cloying way—think “sweet” with an elegant bow on it, not “sweet” with a sugar crash lurking in the shadows. For my Asian palate (which tends to give side-eye to anything aggressively saccharine), this hit a lovely balance. The roasted nuts folded in? A textural love letter. Crunchy, toasty, and the kind of detail that says: we care deeply about your mouthfeel.
The vibe inside the shop is classic modern gelateria chic—lots of polished surfaces, bright lighting, and just enough chaos behind the counter to make you feel like the gelato is made with passionate, frantic joy.
Final verdict: Anita knows what she’s doing. Come for the flavors, stay for the excuse to stand on Broadway with a cone in hand, pondering whether to get back in line for another scoop....
