I finally got my project completed earlier this month. Of course, COVID delays happened which is no fault of the business. They were clean and organized installing my windows. Additionally, the owner came by to see the work and answer any questions. I also had an issue operating the pull in (out) feature and they were happy to come back to remedy it and explain to me how to operate it properly.
My previous issues seemed to be related to a disorganized sales rep. I get it, it happens. The work was done properly and I'm happy with my new windows.
###Update Sept. 2020#
I cannot recommend this company to anyone. I'm currently working with Historical Windows of New York on replacing 3 landmarked windows. They had pretty much done the same work to another unit in my building. That said, this is not a unique or difficult job. Their pre-sales pitch was consistent, they followed up, answered questions and etc. That all changed once the contract and checks where handed over. Complete radio silence.
I gave them deposits on Friday Oct 11th. It's now November 11th over a month and I have not heard a single update nor have I seen the drawings I was promised by the sales rep Augustin.
Furthermore, It's impossible to reach anyone by phone (they have no receptionist). I've called multiple times, emailed multiple times. On the occasion a did get a response, it was vague and a "update coming soon". Having just done a complete renovation of a 3 bedroom home, I know how long it take to do drawings. 3 simple windows, should not take over 4 weeks (and also considering they already did the SAME job to another unit in the building)
I cannot recommend this company to anyone.
I will update this review should there be any change...
Read moreChoosing Historical Windows for your window and door replacement is like choosing a Bentley for a cross country trip instead of a go-cart. Yes, it will cost more, but the quality of their service and their product is the reason for that.
I called every company my coop's architects recommended - seven companies - and Historical Windows stood out as the most knowledgeable, responsive, and professional. They were the only company that offered brick-to-brick installation, where they remove and replace the old existing frames instead of popping new windows into old frames - hence the price difference - because you end up with a much better product/result.
Foreman Chris and his workers, Mike, Sunil and Carlos were so respectful of my apartment. They prepped for a whole day to protect it (heavy plastic on the building's carpeted stairs, covered my wood floors, wrapped everything in plastic, built an entire floor-to-ceiling plastic wall to contain the mess) and cleaned everything when the job was complete. And, most importantly, I'm so happy with my windows and my...
Read moreWe had all of the windows replaced in our prewar apartment. The windows were all custom sizes in and various conditions. Historical Windows did a great job not only helping to chose replacements by providing descriptions and answering questions, but also by mitigating the issues inherent in buildings that are over 100 years old with measurement visits and onsite inspections.
The installation crew was very professional during install, and were respectful of our apartment and of the fact that we had to live in it for the couple of weeks it would take to rip and replace. Foreman Lee kept in touch at the end of every work day to update us on progress made, problems and solutions found, and schedules for the next day. He was incredibly responsive and professional.
Would definitely recommend them for the tricky job of swapping in new windows into old...
