Joybird – A Complete Rip-Off
This has been the worst shopping experience of my life. I purchased a couch for my New York apartment, fully expecting a smooth delivery. I measured the elevator, hallway, and entryways before placing the order—doing my due diligence as a customer. However, I’m not an architect, and I cannot predict how the angles and dimensions would play out with a large piece of furniture.
When the delivery team arrived, they claimed the corridor wasn’t wide enough to remove the couch from the elevator and that the stairs were also not an option due to the weight and space constraints. They told us we were welcome to try carrying it ourselves—completely unreasonable.
In the end, they took the couch back. I contacted Joybird to ask if they could disassemble and reassemble the couch for an additional fee, but they refused. They also informed me that there would be no refund because the fabric was made to order. So now, I am left with no couch and no refund. There has been zero attempt to accommodate or support me.
One representative did say we would receive a 50% refund, but now I’m being told that the item hasn’t been received at the warehouse, so they can’t process it. It’s been 11 days, and apparently, the couch is now “missing.” I’ve been told conflicting things by multiple representatives—some say I won’t get a refund at all, others say I need to wait another 5–7 business days.
At this point, I don’t know what to expect, but one thing is certain: I will never purchase from Joybird again, and I’ll make sure everyone I know avoids them as well. This is truly...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I bought a couch from here about two months ago, and honestly we completely regret our decision. Spending close to $4,000 on a seemingly beautiful sage green couch, we quickly discovered just how cheaply constructed the products from Joybird are. For instance, we’ve had our couch a short time, (I’m barely on it) but my boyfriend sits on the “L-shaped” side often in the evenings when he watches TV. Already we’ve noticed the couch looks lopsided. It’s because the filling is literally what cotton balls are made from. The pillows, the cushions - everything looks half filled and quickly becomes cheap looking, because it’s filled with cheap fluff.
I’m constantly having to remove the inside of each pillow case, and push the cheap filling around to try and make the cushions look filled. Honestly, compared to our article couch (which I’ve had for about 5 years and it’s PERFECT - I’ve never had to mess with the pillows), this couch looks and feels cheap. We will never buy from this company again.
The image taken is from AFTER I tried unsuccessfully to “fluff” the back cushions, which is impossible because again, it’s half filled and is cotton ball material. It’s truly a joke. I’ve bought cheap pillows on amazon from $5 that are made better than this. Again, just an extremely cheaply made product. Do not...
Read moreI recently began shopping for new furniture for my cozy family den. I loved all things Joybird due to the comfort and rich colors. To begin the shopping process I was able to work virtually with a Joybird Designer, Karley. She was an incredible! I uploaded pictures from my living room and she designed a room around the pieces I knew I wanted to use in the new den. The problem was I still couldn't see the pieces in person because I am located in the midwest and didn't have access to a showroom. A few weeks later, I was fortunate enough to travel to NYC for a the holidays. I looked up Joybird and was thrilled to see they had two brick and mortar stores. My daughter and I went to the SoHo location and worked with Rory! With my design plans in hand and the ability to test out the furniture, I knew I was making the right decision! It was SO fun to see all of the shades, textures and styles of the furniture. Rory did a wonderful job in helping me hone in on the "feel" of my room. I canNOT wait for the items to ship (it takes a few months, but I receive updates consistently from the building site). If you are in the SOHO neighborhood you MUST stop by this darling shop- you'll feel right at...
