I purchased a ring for my wife and me from Kay Jewelers. The first engraving on the ring was terrible. We were shown a beautiful engraving on the picture, but when we received the ring, the engraving was hard to see. We asked Karen, the associate we purchased the ring from, to fix the engraving. However, after a week, our ring was returned with the same engraving, and according to the Kay Jewelers associate, it had been fixed. My wife was upset about it, but since we did not have time to return the ring and wait another week. Upon purchase, we were offered a Comenity Bank credit card to cover the cost of the ring. Unfortunately, we were not told that after some months, I would be charged almost $1700 in interest. I called Kay Jewelers to inquire, and they redirected me to Comenity Bank to resolve the issue. Comenity Bank staff noted all the information I provided and asked me to call back the next morning. I called the next morning and spoke to a supervisor who said, "I can see you were charged interest on your purchase, which you will have to pay." I asked to speak to the manager, and I was told the same thing. After bouncing back and forth between Kay Jewelers and Comenity Bank, I decided to contact the CEO of Comenity Bank, Robert Bowman. I wrote multiple emails to him, but I never received a response. In total, I have been charged more than $3000 in interest and still going on, which was never explained to me. Whenever I contacted Kay Jewelers Manager Karen, she never acknowledged my complaint and always redirected me to Comenity Bank. This was frustrating because Comenity Bank supervisors, Valerie, Dawn, Nikki, Ashly, and account specialists Latoria and Jeanine had the same answer for me: that they could not help me, and I needed to contact Kay Jewelers to resolve my issue. This issue caused significant problems in my relationship. In conclusion, making the purchase has cost me double than the...
Read moreThis experience was awful I came in there looking for something for my mother and mother-in law 1st of all I felt uncomfortable because nobody wanted to help me at 1st I figured because I was walking around with sweat pants and a big t shirt so they probably thought I didn't have money to spend then after while a man came to me . I told the sales associate that I don't have a budget but at the same time my mom doesn't like anything to over the top because my mother is really sick and she cant really go outside but I just wanted to get her something to show her how much I care and something to represent mothers day. The man (which he never told me his name) barely listened to what I said he just took me to the $30 "sale" jewelry UNTIL he found out I had $4000 credit and my husband had $10000 credit with KAY then took me to crazy over the top jewelry, Which doesn't bother me but the fact that he did not listen to what I was telling him made me feel like he was just trying to get me to buy anything. There was no sale process, he didn't even try to build rapport he just acted like he didn't care. I'm type of customer that is easy to purchase I can buy anything as long as the sales rep. can show me that they actually wants to find you something that you really want instead of getting you something that helps get them more commission. Please train your associates, every commission based company has a sale process and every process 2 most valuable things is to BUILD RAPPORT and SHOW EMPATHY which I did...
Read moreMaria, from the Queens Center Mall in Elmhurst, NY, was our salesperson. She provided excellent customer service and could not have been more helpful. The experience began with her allowing us to try on several types of rings. She even brought out the KAY catalog to see if there might be another style of ring to ship to store. After choosing a ring from under the counter, we asked if there were any payment plans available. She showed the possible plans, and with those options, we decided to purchase a second ring. Maria went that extra mile to see if she could apply any other discounts. That is something I admire in a salesperson. During the credit check for a KAY card, the small talk that we had made me feel like I was talking with a personal friend. Her laughter was contagious as well! After the purchase was processed and the terms of the payment plan were explained in great detail, Maria went to clean the 2 rings. I showed her my ring from another jewelery store and she gave it a cleaning too! I was not expecting that at all, but that small gesture made me realize that we had found our new favorite jewelry store. KAY jewelers, Maria is certainly a "gem" and should be recognized for her efforts this evening. We now have a KAY card, 2 beautiful rings, and a new friend named Maria! I will ask to work with her for any future purchases. (Sorry ZALES, but no one approached us in your store. Glad it worked out that way, or we would never...
