As a complete novice to the world of pottery, I recently had the pleasure of taking a small, personalized beginner's potter's wheel class, and it was an absolute delight! Under the guidance of an incredible instructor, Iryna, my experience was nothing short of amazing, leaving me with newfound passion and a desire to return for more.
From the moment I stepped into the cozy studio, I was warmly welcomed by her. She exuded genuine enthusiasm for the art of pottery and had an infectious passion that instantly put me at ease. The class had a limited number of participants, creating an intimate and supportive environment for learning.
Her teaching style was exceptional; she struck the perfect balance between clear instructions and allowing each participant to explore their creativity. They took the time to explain the fundamentals of using the potter's wheel, from basic techniques to more advanced maneuvers, ensuring everyone grasped the concepts at their own pace.
What truly set this class apart was the personalized attention given to each participant. Iryna went above and beyond to provide one-on-one guidance, offering invaluable tips and tricks to improve our skills. They patiently addressed every question, instilling confidence in us to experiment and push the boundaries of our creativity.
As a beginner, I was apprehensive about making mistakes, but the instructor fostered a non-judgmental atmosphere, emphasizing that mistakes were part of the learning process. This encouragement freed me from fear, allowing me to immerse myself fully in the experience. The joy of molding clay with my own hands, under the expert guidance of Iryna, was both therapeutic and relaxing.
By the end of the class, I was amazed at the progress I had made. I successfully created a few simple pieces, and the sense of accomplishment was immense. It was a testament to Iryna’s skill in nurturing our creativity and guiding us towards achieving tangible results in a short period.
I cannot express my gratitude enough for such a wonderful experience. Iryna’s patience, expertise, and infectious enthusiasm truly made this potter's wheel class exceptional. I am eager to return for more sessions and continue honing my pottery skills under their tutelage.
If you're a beginner looking for a personalized and inspiring introduction to pottery, I highly recommend this potter's wheel class. It is an enriching journey that promises to leave you with a profound appreciation for the art form and a strong desire to explore the world of pottery further. Thank you, for an...
Read moreI hate to give a bad review. Unfortunately felt the instructor was extremely unprofessional and rude. It left me feeling worse after the class and a few other students agreed. For example, I was told if I wanted to use more than one glaze I’d have to be a member in a super rude tone. The teacher seemed irritated whenever I asked her for help. I thought she was having a horribly off day but when I came to pick up my piece, and even seemed irritated then. I wasn’t even able to glaze my own piece. The studio is minimally set up (tables aren’t canvas/made for clay). I learned absolutely nothing and left feeling bad. Extremely overpriced for what else is out there especially when it comes to instructors and it seems most the reviews may be from folks who are beginners who haven’t worked at other...
Read moreKeramo has an accessible menu of options to introduce, continue, or casually try out ceramics. My schedule hadn't allowed me to commit to the 6-week course yet so I tried a few one-off 75-minute one-time classes - which ended up being private because of low/no other attendance. The sessions were relaxed, the clay felt abundant and it was totally liberating to not feel like I had a finite amount of clay to work with. I am looking forward to the longer intro program as my schedule frees up later this year. Iryna is a wonderful teacher, with a sense of humor, patience, and skill. Her little (hypoallergenic) dog Luna is sometimes there and she's an adorable in-house perk...
