I’m extremely disappointed in the service I received at Kettykiss Nail Studio. On Friday February 21st, I got my nails done at this establishment for an upcoming event I was attending and I was happy with them, however the next day on Saturday February 22nd, as I was doing my makeup for the event, my right index finger nail fell off and because I live far from Kettykiss Nail Studio I couldn’t go get it fix until Monday February 24th. When I went on Monday February 24th after work to fix it, but when I got home to Brooklyn, that same night, my right index finger nail fell off again so I called them right away and told them what happened and they said for me to come back to fix it on Tuesday February 25th. After they fixed it on the 25th, I thought it would finally stay on and get my money worth …..but of course it didn’t lasted. On Wednesday February 27th, I felt that right index finger nail didn’t feel sturdy like the other nails and when I looked at it…. THE RIGHT INDEX FINGER WAS LIFTING UP AND EVENTUALLY FELL OFF (and it rip off my natural nail underneath the gel-x nail) during my work day and now the nails on the other hand are starting crack in half. At this point, the right nail fell off THREE TIMES since Friday February 21st, I’ve been at the salon TWICE back to back for the same issue and it hasn’t been more than a week yet since initial application of the nails. Also now, the design on my other hand has completely disintegrated.
I’m also avoid any strenuous activities like exercise or lifting heavy objects that could cause my nails—especially just one nail—to lift and fall off. I work in an office, and the only time my hands are in water for extended period is when I wash my hands or shower each day. I've been to Kettykiss Nail Studio before and had a great experience, so I’m really confused about what’s going on with their services and staff now. This situation is completely unacceptable, especially since I paid $90, including tip, for this. To make matters worse, they refused to offer any compensation or a refund for the hassle and inconvenience of repeatedly having to go back to fix the issue. All they suggested was for me to come back to the salon, which is starting to feel...
Read moreAfter a long day of work going to a nail salon for an hour and a half for a French manicure and paying $50+ (only $55 because I had a $10 off discount) for a sloppy job is unacceptable. The reason I am even leaving a review is because this was the last straw with me. The first was paying for a $70.00 uncomfortable pedicure due to the station. The leg rest slide back the whole time and although I asked for something to block it from sliding I was ignored due to the language barrier. The second strike was paying again $70+ for a set and coming back EVERY week to glue back on a nail because the job was sloppy. I tipped every time by the way, today I absolutely did not. This doesn’t always happen, there were 4 good times my press ons stayed on too. I even bragged and reviewed them on my tik tok. I told all my co-workers, family and friends. But I can’t vouch for a place that doesn’t take accountability and ignores a unsatisfied customer. As someone who provides great costumer service, I am aware of mistakes but to not fix them and let someone walk out dissatisfied is sadly the new norm. I would recommend buying from here…manicures without polish which I’ve seen others do and wondered why not just sit down. Well now I know. The press ons towards the middle are very pretty and durable, it’s cheaper and less stress to do the application independently. I love spending money on good services and supporting local businesses but a bad job IGNORED comes with consequences. I hope you do a better job on future clients and correct the mistakes you make, people should feel pretty when they leave not be in tears and...
Read moreI wanted to love this place, but after spending money on something that I was told would last me at least 2 weeks I’m highly disappointed.
I went in and everyone was friendly and nice. I went in for press on and did their manicure solid adhesive service. The service of cleaning the nails and filing could have been better. They charge $35 for them to do a manicure and apply the nails.
Less than 24 hours later I had one nail that fell off and when I started looking at all the nails they were all in the brinks of coming off. I went right before having to go into work the next morning and I was in a bit of a rush. I was the only one there and had to ask if I can help the lady take the nails off due to needing to leave. You would think that the other employees would help the lady that’s reapplying the nails. One helped her remove them but that was as far as the service went. It had to keep mentioning I was pressed for time due to the lady stopping to talk to the other lady about how the adhesive had come off.
They continuously asked if I did the $45 gel x service I told them no. If you’re paying for a service it should be done well and should last as long as you say or at least a week not a few hours. Point of all of this after reapplying, a few days later two nails fell off and I was just not going to keep trying to deal with it. I could have just purchased elsewhere and done the glue...
