I have been a customer since the brand first launched and truly considered this my favorite brand. Unfortunately, both quality and customer service have gone down substantially in the last two years. They also just increased prices for US across the board but not for other countries which honestly, doesn’t make sense to me but it’s an international business so fine. However, the latest news with Sezane has finally opened my eyes to what kind of brand this is and I am done purchasing from them.
Morgane Sezalory and her crew should be ashamed of what they did in Oaxaca. I highly suggest other customers to look this up (both Vice and Washington Post have articles). I was pretty upset with their previous shoot, Atlas, because it showed a blatant disregard (and therefore disrespect) to the culture but i tried to give them the benefit of the doubt (what brand hasn’t done some sort of cultural appropriation). However, this latest incident is on another level. They took an elderly woman and turned her into a circus act for them. The video is honestly a little hard to watch. I cannot in good conscience continue purchasing from this brand after watching the videos of what happened. I certainly had no illusions that Sezane was truly an ethical brand but I thought being B Corp certified meant they were at least holding themselves to a higher level of accountability. Turns out B corp certified really doesn’t mean much at all.
Morgane- no amount of beautiful clothes can wipe away the ugliness in your heart. I sincerely hope you learn from this and do better but I for one am done with...
Read moreI had been looking forward visiting the store for a while, as they don't have one in the UK. I loved the store itself, lots of beautiful items. However, unfortunately, the whole experience was ruined for me by the terrible level of 'service'. I am actually still in disbelief about how rude the staff were and how awful I was treated. In the first instance, no welcome or assistance from anyone, at any point. I could easily have spent a lot of money here, but only bought one cardigan. The girl at the sweaters was unwelcoming and seemed like she just couldn't be bothered! I am most appalled by the treatment from the lady on the cash desk. She had a made a mistake when taking a note of my email address. And then when she had it completed, she snapped "it would have been easier if I told her it a different way in the first place" and then started laughing in my face! Her colleague then took over the sale (I think as he witnessed her unprofessional approach) and she didn't have the courtesy to explain that her colleague would be taking over the sale. After leaving, I had remembered I handbag that I noticed and stupidly decided to go back and buy it. The same lady was extremely rude again, so much so her colleague intervened. I explained that I no longer wanted the bag due to her rude attitude, and left the shop without purchasing the bag. Very disappointed overall, resulted in lost sales. I won't be recommending this store or...
Read moreAbsolutely NOT Sézane NYC. I'm not sure if this team is trying to imitate what they imagine "snobby French" is like or possibly embodying the bristle of NYC nouveau riche; but, I have never experienced anything like the rudeness of this staff. I am not referring to them as a "sales team" because their behavior does absolutely nothing to drive sales. In fact, this team seems aimed at driving "break up with the brand." Were I not a long time loyal customer online and the Paris appartments every time I am in the city, this would be the last time I considered this brand. Period. Secondly, watching a team member approach and belittle my 20 year old daughter upon greeting after she waited in line (not complaining and demanding as others did) was disgusting. Little did they know, said daughter has only shopped Sézane in Paris. And she is enrolled in the leading fashion and textile management program in the world (NC State). Do you think she will tell her friends? Absolutely yes. NYC you failed miserably. Dollars lost. We went elsewhere and spent money. Morgane if you're reading this, fire the entire team. Senior leadership included. If they aren't training their sales team and holding them to a higher customer service standard, they are costing you sales and reputation. Harvard Business Review still cites the power of "word of mouth" as the greatest marketing ROI. NYC is burning you. I wish we hadn't made the effort to wait in...
