I’ve found my experience here can really vary. The prices are good and depending on the manicurist you may end up with great results. I’ve gone three times and had a different person each time. The first two did a great, albeit long, job. I really liked how my nails looked. The last time my nails didn’t turn out like the color I asked for, I had to ask for multiple nails to be reshaped, and the manicurist really damaged my cuticles with the e-file, making me bleed in multiple places and they looked awful and torn up the next day. My manicurist was also sick and coughing throughout and I am now under the weather as well (hard to pinpoint where/when an infection spreads but it’s not a good feeling to have someone visibly sick a foot away from you working on your nails). Had it not been for this last experience I would have given four stars for the results and price. That being said, the one consistency is that the manicure will take far more than an hour and they will have manicurists going back and forth working on multiple people at a time which makes it take longer. If you plan to go, make sure you block out an hour and a half...
Read moreLa Bella is a great salon that opened in my neighborhood. It’s run by Crystal who is not only a sweet and caring person but she genuinely wants to make customers happy. I love going there, so far I’ve had Emma and Shirley and they’re both exceptional! Their gel color selection is gorgeous and the salon is always pristine, prices are lower than other salons in this area. If you’re looking for a great massage, go to Shirley. She’s young, sweet and quiet but those fingers are so strong and she has an excellent understanding of releasing those pressure points and knots! I will always come back here for their wonderful service and workmanship and Crystal makes me feel comfortable and welcome. There is no where else I would go in the Greenpoint / Williamsburg area. Thank you for always looking after me Crystal, you and you’re staff are...
Read moreFor the price it’s good. $45 for dip. However, during the service, my manicurist left me to do someone else’s nails while my previous powder was being soaked in acetone. I sat there for 25 minutes before another woman came over to do my nails.
What usually takes an hour took 1 hr and 45 minutes.
Additionally, I asked for a rounded almond and just got round. I asked for her to fix it but she did very little. Then when she was doing my cuticles, I bled a little bit. But that was not a big deal since I know my skin and nails are sensitive (I should’ve mentioned that).
Lastly, the last powder she put on make my nails look like the have small little white specs from up close. Not sure what the purpose of that was.
Overall, I’d give this place...
