I bought two vouchers for me and my friend and let me just explain how it was a complete waste of money. I came here before and I had a great experience, so I was expecting the same positive experience. That was not the case this time. I made an appointment and we got there in time, but we were asked to wait for about 20 min. My massage was the worst massage I have ever received. It was extremely painful and I had to ask the girl several times to go softer. She was too rough and used her bones to massage me. It was extremely uncomfortable and I honestly thought about leaving the room and asking for a manager but I was hopeful she would get better. I didn’t even want to give her the tip because she did not deserve it. But I kept it professional and paid her for her service. She seemed new at the job, as she caused me more pain. There was no type of relaxation within the 90 min of this massage. She did not listen to the fact that I was in pain and she did not avoid the areas I did not want to be massaged. I came out with even more back pain which defeated the whole purpose. This 90 minutes felt more like torture and I was counting down the minutes. Also I would add that she did not make me feel comfortable whatsoever. I am a curvy woman, so the small towel that was provided had a lot of my body parts exposed the entire time. Overall, the experience was uncomfortable for me. When I asked my friend about her experience, she had the same issue and told the women that she was being too rough. She also stated that the women spent too much time in one area so it was extremely uncomfortable after awhile. I really should have spoken to the manager but it seemed like they could not understand me. I should be refunded for this horrific experience. Read moreI tried to post this on Groupon three times, but somehow it didn't show up. Got a Groupon for a 90 minute massage (the cost wasn't much less than their regular price) and when I arrived, I was asked to pay $8 "in tax" (not a usual request). I would have been fine with it if the massage had been good... but unfortunately it was subpar, the worst I've had in NYC thus far. It was clear that, my masseuse was NOT trained in massage therapy. She just used brute force and elbow strength the whole time. There was so little variation in her moves -- just elbow moves for most of the 90 minutes and mostly on my back (I didn't even turn onto my back). In the moments that she did use her hands, her callouses made it pretty unpleasant.
I get a massage once a week so I know what a good masseuse feels like now. I also enjoy medium to hard massages, but this was painful. I had to ask her to be softer AT LEAST 7 or 8 times, and she would for a minute before going hard again. In short, I would NOT recommend this spa... In fact, it probably needs to be investigated because I read so many other reviews that said the same thing that I did. It's just pretty clear that at least this one masseuse (and probably others there) was not accredited. I have a back injury so had I not told her to stop doing some things or to go softer, I might have risked...
Read moreI use to come here because I loved the service I recieved. After today I will no longer patronize this location. I came in for a 30 minute foot and 30 minute back massage. The gentleman in the front was adamant that I pay for services right away. I declined as I always pay for services after they are rendered. He appeared upset and yelled at the massage therapist who walked me to the room. I took everything off besides my jeans since I just requested a back and foot rub. The massage therapist came in and requested I take my jeans off. I mentioned that I was getting a back and foot rub. She still demanded I take my jeans off and began pulling my jeans down. I mentioned to her that I would take them off if she leaves the room. I wanted to leave the room but if I did I would have left top less. I decided to stay which was a huge regret the massage was very rough and I had to ask her to be gentler several times. As I went to pay I gave her a $5 tip which was nice especially after my experience. She started yelling and the manager approached me and stated we have an 18% mandatory tip policy. I mentioned everything that happened and they still demanded an 18% tip so I gave it to them. I made it clear I would never return and would document...
