EDIT: My issue with the building is with management and how they run things.
@Magnolia Management: Please supply all irrefutable evidence in writing.
Management claims they’ve reach out to me to rectify this charge on my account however, each time I emailed them, I was met with an OOO email multiple times. Thus I’ve left it to them to reach back out. For them to respond on this post, that I should come to their office to discuss, is absurd.
The new pool policy does not allow for residents to have ANY guest on the weekends. Most of us here are working professionals who enjoy the company of friends on the weekends. We are limited to 2 guests during the weekdays due to unfortunate mismanagement last summer (nonresidents snuck into the building and overcrowded the pool). Plus there are color coded wristbands to distinguish residents from guests and must be worn to gain access.
Additionally, the concierge and maintenance team are incredible and make this place awesome to live at. I really enjoy seeing them around. There’s also a sense of community with the other residents here, which is great. I’ll definitely miss it.
I’m choosing not to renew because at the time my renewal was offered, the rent for my exact unit was $800 less than what I’d be paying, without any concessions. Due to the management company using an “algorithm” to fix the rent prices, unfortunately at the time I paid there was a huge migration back the city. Now that there’s a market readjustment, there was a reduction at renewal time.
We are charged $100 every month to access the amenities on top of rent. So when management hosts events like popcorn night, it seems like a lazy and cheap attempt to appease residents.
My advice is still move at your own risk.

Management charged me $1,200 for 'having a party,' without any proof or prior warning. Despite paying an additional $100 each month for use of the amenity space, I've been disputing this charge for over six months without any response from management regarding its validity. It seems they made an assumption because the gathering involved multiple residents and guests, yet I was singled out—likely due to my vocal criticism of their property management practices. This feels predatory and like targeted harassment. For a luxury building, their treatment is more akin to that of a low-income housing community. Do yourself a favor and reconsider...

The management has displayed a complete lack of empathy and kindness. It feels as if they are doing us a favor by allowing us to live in the building, rather than understanding that we are paying customers deserving of respect and courtesy. Their attitudes are consistently condescending, dismissive, and outright rude.
Communication with the management has been surprising. Phone calls and emails go unanswered, and when they do respond in person, it is with an air of superiority that makes me question their understanding of customer service. It seems as though the maintenance team believes themselves to be untouchable and beyond reproach, making any attempt to voice concerns or seek assistance an exercise in frustration and fear of harassment and retaliation. For example, I was accused of having my dog defecate on a floor that wasn’t even mine when I was out of town. Impossible and disgusting.
Maintenance issues are consistently mishandled and they find constant excuses. . Repairs and maintenance requests have been either ignored or addressed with an unreasonable delay, causing further inconveniences and discomfort.
Moreover, the lack of transparency regarding community policies and decisions is exasperating. Important information and updates were rarely communicated promptly, if at all, leaving me feeling uninformed and marginalized. It is as if the management believes that I have no right to know what was happening within my own community.
The complete lack of respect and dismissive attitudes are a constant source of frustration and dissatisfaction. I strongly advise anyone considering this condo building to think twice and explore other options. You deserve to live in a place where management values your well-being and treats you with...
Read moreJust an absolutely Disgusting & Humiliating Handling of Guest Policy by Management - From a resident who has lived in this complex for nearly 3 years.
I am absolutely appalled at how Magnolia Dumbo today (10/25) handled guest policy. For context, I had my guest (a recurring, close guest) be singled out and "refused entry" into my building, solely because they were seen "unsupervised" in an amenity space for ~15 odd minutes. Mind you, I pay almost $200 monthly in amenity fees, so you'd think with the money I throw at them I could have some more flexibility. I realize that a guest policy is important for safety, but what is gross is the lack of communication with me. The only note I received was a vague, passive aggressive email from Alicia Pritkin reminding me to "update my guest list" with zero context as to why she might be sending me an email. It wasn't until my guest showed up to visit that he was REFUSED entry by the front desk and told he was "not allowed in the building." I wasn't informed of this until I was told, which is just absolutely humiliating to my guest and just ridiculous that I was not informed of a prior situation that prompted this refusal of entry. I was not called by Carlos (the super) or the front desk staff and informed of this situation until it had actually transpired.
I'm not even going to address actual asinine guest policies in the place (no guests at the pool on the weekends? Because all of us can hang out with our friends on an odd Tuesday? The stupidity in this logic is self explanatory). But Magnolia, do better. Residents are paying upwards of 4000 USD to live here. At least pretend you're...
