The life Time at Dumbo. Brooklyn is most definitely what’s happening there’s so much square footage. It’s honestly amazing.
The front desk is very helpful, professional, engaging, and articulate.
There is a bar there however the only downside is that the woman who is tending the bar, said that there was a happy hour, but didn’t really know the times and didn’t know what drinks or beers are a part of happy hour. Therefore, I did not attend happy hour when I was there in my opinion, they need to do a better job of promoting their happy hour as you don’t find that many gyms with an actual bar. There was no ice plunge, but there is a nice coed Jacuzzi steam room and sauna even though I will admit that. The steam room is absolutely scalding. I had to wet a towel and put it over me and I still couldn’t last longer than 10 minutes in there but it’s soothing nonetheless their workout classes the rooms are very well ventilated the instructors are friendly and engaging and the ambience of the strobe lights and music is definitely thrilling. The weight area is very open and spacious better than the location at sky and there are plenty of restrooms. I didn’t get to hoop, but the pool has six lanes. There’s no need to make a reservation and it feels like the lanes are longer which makes it more enjoyable oh, and I have to add the lifetime café at this location is also top-notch as they serve delicious, hot food. I had an excellent burger and my girlfriend put me on to a cauliflower barbecue chicken and bacon pizza which was delicious. Too bad they don’t sell real soda like Coca-Cola or...
Read moreI just signed up for this gym. It’s cool but like many others in the reviews…I gotta say, the front desk needs a whole new staff. They’re off-putting and can be combative for the pettiest reasons. Not the character traits you want to experience when you first walk in. It’s genuinely super strange (I used to be a f.d attendant at a gym myself— I find that it’s quite easy to be pleasant doing this particular job... quite mind-boggling that they’re still working there) Also…I think it’s especially annoying that when we bring a guest, we must be present, I’ve been a member of all kinds of elite/boutique gyms and it has never been necessary as long as the correct info is provided + form is filled / member ID and/or phone no is given. Only in lifetime have I needed to be physically present. Only thing keeping me here is the hot yoga and sauna/steam room.
All the other staff outside of front desk are helpful and kind :) + members are cool and clean up after themselves. Love the space.
Oh and maybe get a cold plunge! y’all charge us enough...
Read moreIt seems as long as you avoid the manger, Angela, you’ll have a lovely time at this location! Have rarely encountered someone so adamantly rude, just as others have mentioned here.
I went to quickly see this Life Time while I was in the neighborhood. When I checked in at the desk but had my dog with me, I was prepared to explain the situation or be turned away, but no one said anything. I asked for directions, walked around the place, went into the locker rooms, etc. As I was leaving, Angela came up to me and reprimanded me (like I was a child) about my dog, asked how I even got in, insisted on getting my name to flag this on my membership record, and escorted me all the way to the exit while continuing to be rude. I apologized multiple times, saying I was already leaving and I didn’t know the rules before.
She refused to clarify what this flag would mean and was clearly threatening my membership. At the membership cost charged, this sort of treatment should especially...
