NYC Housing Preservation and Development — Local services in New York

I visited this place yesterday around 1:25pm, only to be stopped by security! I explained to supervisor Damien Darden and his subordinate that "my living situation is unsafe and my electricity and gas is off due to my landlord"! I asked to speak with someone but Damien and his female subordinate decided to tell me that "HPD headquarters don't deal with these types of issues". Damien also told me that "I'm in the wrong location for these type of issues"!

What the government is doing now ah days is: Using security to stop CERTIAN PEOPLE from coming into these buildings which are OPEN TO THE PUBLIC! Security is stopping people and asking them "wat are you here for"? Most of the time, if not all the time, they have no right to be asking you about your PERSONAL BUSINESS! Security will also ask you a question like "are you with section 8"? Security then using your answer against you and tell you "we don't deal with section 8 here,wrong building"! All along your actually in the rite building! This deter people from accessing resources and it needs to stop! I received my voucher from acs because I was in foster care my whole life …. I got 3 kids if my own my housing process hasn’t been the best we are not stable I’m currently in a illegal converted 3 bedroom apartment hpd states I’m in trouble hahahha im not THE INSPECTOR that’s one issue it’s me my 4 month old daughter my 4 year old daughter and my special needs son that’s 5 years old he beats in my daughter they can’t share a room hpd denied my request for a reasonable accommodation for another bedroom and then trying to force me back in two bedroom I don’t think so !! I requested an appeal with hpd still nothing !!! My sons has bad tantrums where he stomps at CURRENT LANDLORD IS DOING EVERYTHING TO GET US OUT if hpd thinks for one second that we have to go back to a two bedroom were we are crammed mentally unstable being jammed up and packed up like that GUESS WE WILL STAY IN ARE ILLEGALLY CONVERTED SPLIT IN HALF APARTMENT MY SON GETS SERVICES HPD STATES HE DOESNT HAVE A DISABILITY SORRY I FORGOT TOU GUYS ARE DOCTORS AS WELL...

If I could give this place 0 damn stars I would. These people are a horrible nightmare to deal with and don’t deserve a damn paycheck! Whoever hires this unqualified people should be held liable for their actions and fired! Every time I give them a call I end up waiting over an hour on the phone. every paperwork I submit something online they never review it unless I mail it in to their office and it gets reviewed god knows how many weeks after. When I drive 2+ hour from another state to submit documents in person which they wanted me to they never told me I have to come in on so and so days and better yet that I need an appointment just to submit some damn paperwork for my property. Not only do they waste my time! I lose an entire day of work just to drive back and fourth because the bunch of lazies that sit in an office on computers all day don’t do anything to help the people of NYC! Shame! Do better with...
