EDIT: I have adjusted my review to 5 stars. When I reached out to the company about my tree, they arranged to have it swapped out within a couple of days for free. This company has a solid customer service team who is responsive and caring, so they deserve a good rating for that. A lot of other people I know mentioned this happened to their trees last year (tree purchased from other companies/sources), so I think it was just a bad year for trees. I recommend putting hot water in your tree stand one time right after it arrives to ensure sap doesn't harden over the bottom.
When my tree came on Nov 30, I was so impressed! It was the most beautiful tree I’ve ever had.
Fast forward to a couple weeks later — I had noticed it wasn’t needing much water refill, but didn’t think much about it. Now all of the branches are drooping downwards, the tree is probably half the diameter it was when it arrived.
I’m so sad. It’s days before Christmas and now I hate looking at my tree. It’s depressing.
When I wrote in, they replied that like people, some trees don’t drink as much water. They requested photos to forward to another team. I sent them in, and will update if I get a response.
Overall, it’s still a bit depressing to have to remove every ornament, lights and ribbons and re-put them up on a new tree. Especially since all the needles are super dry and will likely make a huge mess.
It seems likely that the tree was not put in water quickly enough after being cut, or just not cared for properly before it came to me. It’s just collapsing in front of my eyes while the tree stand has remained completely full of water for two weeks.
Thats not normal.

Read moreWanted to express my disappointment with NYC Trees this year. We are 5 days until Christmas and my tree is dry and dead. When it arrived, it was clear the deliverers had no idea what they were doing. They didn’t know what I was talking about when I asked that a plastic bag be placed under it for easy removal, then tore the bag, then left when I went down to the front desk to get a new bag. I filled the base with water immediately, and checked it every day in the days following. It was clear it wasn’t freshly cut bc this tree has drank hardly any water. The water in there is still full, and slimy. I googled that this happens when the tree is not freshly cut and sap grows over the bottom. A PROFESSIONAL tree service would know to recut the base at the time of purchase. Now I have 5 more days to go til Christmas, this tree looks sad and it’s probably going to be a fire hazard now lol. And additionally, it will leave a ton of needles that I will have to clean up bc the company I paid $300 (not including tip!) to didn’t place the tree bag like I asked.
Used NYC Trees last year and had such a great experience with a beautiful tree. Don’t waste your money on people who don’t take professionalism seriously or respect their...

What Joy you have provided my family this Holiday Season. This is the first year (and my boy is 28 (so nearly 3 decades) that we are keeping our tree up past the "return to work" date. We began the standard habit of taking out the boxes to repack our decoration, when we all admitted we weren't ready to take it away. We decided we would leave the tree up until it has taken its last sip (or water from your convenient and stable tree stand).
Tonight is the first night we have ever returned from work after the New Year and seen our twinkling tree.
And it is not our decorations (we have had those longer than the 28 year-old-son 😉) - it is the the tree and the service and everything Tyler's Tree Service did to make every moment of our holiday ritual so pleasant from the get-go: your easy ordering, the prompt deliver, the making sure all was right, and then the most perfect full 6-footer we have ever had.
Not only will I be "ringing your holiday bell 🔔 next year - but all my hall neighbors will too as they witnessed how easy my tree-getting was compared to their street vendors.
Cheers and Happy New Year! Gunnar...
