From the moment my husband, 4-year-old daughter, and I stepped aboard, we were met with kindness, professionalism, and genuine care. Mike greeted us warmly and made us feel right at home. Born and raised in Brooklyn, and I thought I knew everything there was to know about New York — but Mike opened my eyes to a whole new perspective of this incredible city.
The tour was the perfect blend of relaxing and educational. Mike was informative, responsive, and so thoughtful throughout — answering questions, pointing out hidden gems, and even capturing breathtaking photos of our family that we’ll treasure for a lifetime.
My husband, who’s from Florida and no stranger to life by the water, is not easily impressed — but he still can't stop talking about how much he enjoyed the tour, the views, and the peaceful rhythm of the boat ride. And our daughter had a blast! It’s not easy finding something that works for both adults and a four-year-old, but this was truly fun for the whole family. Our Memorial Day weekend was made perfect by this boat tour.
Mike was prompt with pick-up and drop-off, incredibly professional yet down-to-earth, and clearly passionate about what he does. We left the tour feeling connected, inspired, and already looking forward to our next ride with NYCbySEA.
This was more than just a boat ride — it was a memory we’ll hold onto forever. Highly,...
Read moreI took my dad and mom last summer while we were visiting NYC we are from Maine , I am a commercial Capt myself and hold a 1600 ton masters license , this captain is dangerous , plain and simple or just careless . First he pulled out of north cove marina without making a security call on required channel 13 , only asked the marina on a recreational channel if he had permission to depart , never sounded one blast of his horn as we departed directly into the path of an incoming Ferry heading into the terminal which is next to entrance of marina. All though the vessel a 28 foot sea ray Sundancer was ok, the vessel had no basic navigational equipment that should be a bare minimum even on an un- inspected vessel when taking passengers for hire such as a radar. This should be bare minimum although not required in the CFR regulations it’s just common sense for operating in dark , or in the event and of fog which can come suddenly especially after a sudden shower because of temperature inversion between air and water temp after rain causing ground effect fog . I’m sure there are other charter companies to deal with either in NJ or NY with Captains that either have a license greater then a OUPV ( six pack ) or at least one who knows the basic rules of the road prior to putting your friends or family on a...
Read moreI booked a private sunset charter for my husband's 30th birthday. I wanted a special experience for his milestone birthday and came across NYCbySEA on Google. Mike was absolutely amazing throughout the process - right from the communication prior to booking where he answered all the questions I had, to his very gracious cancellation policy and accommodations in case of weather changes, and his directions the day of (it's near a mall so it is convenient to use the restroom prior to getting on the boat). And ofc, the experience itself - what an incredible way to see NYC! It wasn't our first time visiting the city but it was certainly the most unique perspective. And we were blessed with clear skies and a gorgeous sunset - looked stunning. Mike gave us very interesting history facts about various buildings, took photos (he knew the good spots for a photo op) and checked in to make sure everything was going well. There was also music playing which set a really nice vibe. Overall, this was a special, unique experience - and my husband said it was his favourite part of the birthday trip :)...
