I had a wonderful experience interning at Journey of A Dreamer. Before my internship I had little to no experience with film but within the past few weeks going into the latter end of the internship I feel more confident in my skills. Not only do we learn about the film industry as a whole but we also learn about how to take professional videos, screenwriting, acting in monologues, and more. Every Friday, we’re scheduled for exciting film-related trips. Even though we couldn’t go every week due to certain circumstances, we still received payment for the day. This year for DC SYEP I worked as a mentor for Filter Addict Inc. Even though with everything going on and not being able to fulfill my job as a mentor for children.. I still feel accomplished. With my group we all mentored each other and I enjoyed that. I love how we didn't let our limitations prevent us from having fun and opening up. I would not mind doing this next summer and I would even seek future employment with this organization. I learned so much from my employer/lead and my fellow coworkers.
