This building is amazing; literally zero complaints. The generous dimensions of the common area spaces remind me of an old friend of mine's chateau in Normandy, or of a hôtel particulier in Paris, or even of La Mamounia Hotel in Marrakech, those are really the only 3 comparable buildings that come to mind, except, uhh, y'all have way better wi-fi and modern amenities lol, in a city that I actually want to live in, and y'all have far more easygoing staff and fellow residents; in general, it just feels way cozier and more natural here. The operation y'all run here is truly world-class, like I have nothing to say except "Wow," "Congratulations, and "Thank You." I've honestly never seen such a refreshingly authentic and un-pretentious environment within a highest-quality/'luxury' property such as this one. Hugely impressive. I love being able to "commute" 37 floors down to the work lounge to get my work done for the day (or night) and then go back and forth to my studio as needed before turning in for the night, and my being able to dip into the gym on a whim whenever I need to off-load some stress has been incredibly useful. I can't imagine maintaining a primary residence anywhere else other than 1S1 for the foreseeable future; I spent the last dozen years traveling around the world thru college and grad school programs with some 23 or so different residential addresses, in 4 countries, and at least from where I'm standing, I know of no other building that even comes close to measuring up against what y'all have accomplished here with 1S1, truly. I love that the best building I ever found turned out to be right here in Brooklyn. The operational security here is solid, I respect how y'all don't hold any residential keys for incoming guests of residents, it makes me feel a lot safer knowing that there are procedures in place to maintain safety on the property. Big fan of the low-fi/binaural beats that play on the speakers, too. I love the different chairs in the work lounge areas, am a big fan of the top-grain leather sofa in that movie room area on the fireplace-side of the work/club lounge. The dedication to the highest-quality materials available has not gone unnoticed. The disciplined commitment to a minimalist aesthetic, the maintenance of the botanical features, the way the lighting comes thru the windows in the morning, I can go on and on. This place is an absolute dream to photograph, read, and write in. Abir and Danny's use of real plants, and the design with the Christmas decorations, has been greatly appreciated. Idk who curated y'all's collection of art books in the fireplace- side of the work lounge, but I've really loved spending time studying some of them. This feels like a place where I can really continue to grow as an individual, and Im grateful to be able to call...
Read moreThis is truly a special and remarkable place. From the first day even touring the space, the staff and doorman have been very welcoming, friendly, courteous and professional. It is truly one of the most rewarding experiences, getting to interact in this building with them on top of the amazing amenities, views, and overall luxurious space offered at 1 South First St.
On my move-in day I will never forget it, I walked into the entrance and was greeted with a heartfelt “Welcome Home Justin!” That truly made me feel so appreciated and welcomed into the community. Everyone speaks to one another when passing, there are many adorable dogs, an amazing scent that looms through the building, and so much more that makes this place unique.
Staff members really go outside their way for you here and posses a truly genuine attitude of concern when assisting and speaking with guests and residents.
Even my walk throw tour once I signed my lease was exceptional. I was shown all amenities and breakdowns about things like the rooftop access, Club Level and Pool access which includes a TV room, pool table, a quiet study, community kitchen, conference room space, outside grilling stations, and a full 24- Hour gym with exercising classes.
I am truly blessed to have found such a place and to be afforded the opportunity to call this superior serviced paradise home. They really don’t understand how much of an impact the staff makes in regards to resident assistance and property management. My old community was horrible as the staff wasn’t readily available and service orders took months to complete and no one ever made me feel as valued as 1 South 1st has made me feel. I’ve experienced the brutal experience of being attacked and stabbed by knife by a visitor in my home this past Thanksgiving , and as a result I am much more careful of where I choose to live, whom I invite into my home , and aware of my surroundings. I feel much safer here and like I have the correct support in an emergency situation.
Thank you to the staff and management for your dedication, level of service, and the sincere approach in regards to your work. It...
Read moreI’ve been living here for about two and a half years. I moved from SF to NYC at the beginning of the pandemic (April 2020) and chose One South First as my home. I looked all over Manhattan and other parts of Brooklyn but couldn’t quite find what I was looking for (something comparable or better than the luxury high rises in SF). Finally, a friend recommended the Williamsburg waterfront area and specifically One South First.
I immediately had a really good feeling about the building and leasing office staff. Once I saw the apartment I was interested in though, I knew this was it. The experience of moving cross country during the pandemic was daunting but One South First made the process very easy.
The building recently opened so everything is new. The apartment layout is perfect for me and the view of Manhattan never gets old. Central AC units, garbage disposals (which apparently aren’t standard in NYC?), dishwashers, and in-unit washer dryers are some of the highlights.
The building amenities are some of the best I’ve seen including a resident lounge, coworking space, conference/event rooms, pool table, tv room, movie theater, heated outdoor pool, and 46th floor rooftop with one of the best views in NYC.
On top of all this, the people are great. The other residents are very welcoming and social. The conceirge, building/maintenance staff, and management are all great to work and interact with.
A major advantage here is that the owner, developer, property management, and building staff are all the same company… Two Trees. This makes the experience of living here very seamless.
I hope to keep living here or one of the upcoming Two Trees...
