I joined Brooklyn Crossfit South Williamsburg in June of 2016 to get in shape before my 20th high school reunion and haven't looked back! My life has really transformed over the last 7 months and I am so excited to keep up the progress. Brooklyn Crossfit provides all of the encouragement, expertise and equipment you need to achieve your goals...you just have to show up and put in the effort! With a wide schedule of classes, I was able to design a plan that worked for me. I started by going after work to their challenging evening WOD workouts and loved the good-natured, competitive atmosphere. In 2017, I started attending the 6am class to get my workouts in before the day even starts! The 6am crew ROCKS (impartial) and we challenge each other on a daily basis to a) show up, b) give it our best and c) achieve the goals we have set for ourselves. If you think you might be interested in joining, come to an introductory class and give it a shot. That's what I did! I thought it might not be for me and was wrong! My body is transforming, my outlook is brightening, and most importantly, I'm seeing a direct correlation between my effort and results. You can't beat that!

Awesome place to do crossfit. They keep changing the place around so the place doesn't seem repetitive. The staff and the coaches are nice and very competent at what they do; they are very helpful and do a great job building community. The people that go there too are very nice and inclusive; there is definitely a good vibe when you're working out together. Another reason to go is to play with their cute dog Melo :)

Hands down the best gym in Williamsburg! My girlfriend and I work out here 5 days a week and it never gets old. You can be a total novice or high level athlete and there is a place for you in this gym. Very inclusive environment, with tons of good vibes all around. Most importantly it's Chewy approved ;)

Can't believe I hadn't written a proper review of True North yet - it's nothing short of the best-outfitted, cleanest, most welcoming CrossFit-style gym around. Josh, the owner, is strong as hell, but also patient, kind, and meticulous about form and training. Take his intro course, even if you know what you're doing, and you'll probably learn something.

Plus it's a cool enough space that it gets used for photo shoots, your outdoor runs (stop complaining) are along the East River, the community that frequents the gym is great - I've learned a lot from other members in addition to the coaches - and all the dogs that stop by are friendly (hi, Tonton!).

I'm not joking when I say that when my wife and I talk about moving back to NYC, Williamsburg would be our first-choice neighborhood because...

I started Crossfit this year as a New Years Resolution and can't believe how motivated I am to live a healthier life and become strong. As a German, new to New York, this was the best choice to make in terms of fitness, health and community. The community is incredible - I have already made some great friends . The trainers are super professional and are paying a lot of attention on how you move well / your safety. I think this is, next to a broad variety on exercises, ( especially when you exercise a few times a week ) the most important thing. The facilities and music as well as the variety of workouts are getting you in the mood you want and need - I have so much fun while Iam getting fit. Thank you, guys for the experience...
