A Gem in Food and Atmosphere, but Service Needs It is undeniably a treasure in Brooklyn. The food is absolutely delightful, crafted with care and attention to detail, reflecting the culture and community it represents. The location itself is perfect—inviting, comfortable, and a wonderful place to unwind. It's evident how much effort the owners have put into making this place not just a cafeteria, but a beacon of pride for the community.
However, the service experience left much to be desired. The individual providing the service did not reflect the passion and dedication that this establishment stands for. It’s vital to recognize that this place is more than just a business; it is a symbol of cultural identity and community pride. Exceptional service is a key element in honoring the hard work of the owners and maintaining the reputation of the name they’ve built.
With some adjustments in the service approach, this cafeteria has the potential to become an unmatched experience in every aspect. It’s not just about serving food; it’s about embodying the values and heritage this place represents. I look forward to returning and hope the service evolves to match the exceptional standards set by...
Read moreIs this place a cafe or a veterinarian's office? They allow dogs inside, which is in violation of New York State Department of Health regulations. While I was there, this one person's dog kept jumping up and putting its front paws on the counter!! Just nasty!! The owners were serving at the moment and didn't say a word, much less tell the selfish dog owner to take their pet outside. I mentioned it to someone behind the counter and they just brushed it off. The restaurant could be fined or even shut down for that. In addition, there was a lady with her little infant who could barely get past this rambunctious dog to make her order while holding her baby close to her chest for fear of the dog jumping up on it. I wonder if the owners are aware that they would be liable if that dog, which isn't allowed inside the restaurant in the first place, were to harm that child? Meanwhile, as this is going on, a second person entered the cafe with a dog. So, now, there were two dogs inside this cafe, a food-service establishment where by law there should be NO animals. In short, this cafe is very unsanitary and inconsiderate of its customers. I'm...
Read moreAs an Ecuadorian, I feel a sense of joy when I discover a place where I can reconnect with familiar flavors, especially the delightful memories that a great cup of coffee can bring.
Café Zaruma is not only a spot to enjoy truly amazing coffee, but it's also the perfect place to try traditional dishes like bolón, which can be made with cheese or bacon, and tigrillo, made with green plantain and cheese, among other ingredients. One of the best ways to savor these dishes is with a cup of black coffee.
If you’re looking for more options, they offer a wide menu featuring various coffee flavors, breads, and pastries.
In addition to their delicious coffee, you must try the coffee sourced from Zaruma’s rich land, known for producing some of the most remarkable beans. The owner and her team are incredibly kind, and the atmosphere is fantastic! The café often showcases artwork on the walls, with many pieces reflecting Ecuadorian culture.
I hope you enjoy it as...
