I am very mindful of when leaving review, but I feel compelled to leave this one. I feel compelled because I want whoever the owner or leadership of this business to understand that some New Yorkers move all over the city and often times, search for some semblance of home in a neighborhood. So, when I moved back into the city from Brooklyn, in search of a nail salon to call home, I was hoping that this would be it. Sadly, I experienced the same level of mediocrity that tons of other places provide all over the city. But the last two times were the most disappointing. Not only did the lady who did my nails, make me feel bad about not being happy about the pedicure I received, (I did enjoy the powder manicure), the last time I was there, all technicians were occupied and instead of allowing me to sit and soak the powder off of the nails while waiting, she instead asked me to come back in 45 minutes. So I did. After pouring the solution in a bowl, which took all of 10 seconds, I sat there for at least half an hour soaking and after, she did not want to complete the nail procedure, I’m assuming because she didn’t want to stay longer. Whether I misunderstood something or not, the reality is the way that it was handled in my opinion could’ve just been done with more consideration and mindfulness. So I exercised my final discount, and I will certainly not be patronizing that business again. Instead, I chose one of the numerous other nail salons that are walking distance from there and I enjoyed the manicure I received, on my birthday before I flew out of the country where I felt appreciated and the service was kinder. I hope your experience is must better...
Read moreI’ve been looking for nail shop in uptown Manhattan for awhile, so I came across this place on Google. I was greeted as soon I walked in. I told one of the ladies (i think the manager) that I had acrylic on my nails, but I wanted dip powder. She started removing the acrylic on my pinky nail with a metro card. I was confused because I’ve never seen that done before. She said this tells her how weak the nail is. I told her my nails were naturally thin. At one point, I said, “ouch and to stop because I think you broke my natural nail.” She didn’t apologize and then immediately dipped my nails in acetone. I told her it burned because I think my nail broke. She told me that the acrylic damaged my nails and they are weak now, which is why it burns. She then started removing my acrylic with a drill, which is what I expected in the first place. And of course, my pinky nail was broke halfway down to the skin. She was like, no worries, we can glue it back. That’s not the point. Another lady did my pedicure with a short timed massage which was great and she was really sweet. She also did the dip powder on my nails. Some of the nails were thicker than others, and it was all the way down to my cuticles. I still tipped her for services and her kindness. But, as you can imagine after a week, the dip powder...
Read moreThe people were nice but unfortunately the nails were not up to my standards whatsoever. I asked for a basic gel x fill which back home at my regular nail salon would’ve taken the lady 40 minutes but it took 90 minutes here. My nails are now super thick and uneven which may be hard to tell from the pictures. When it came time to pay they charged me $71.40 for a FILL which is a ridiculous price when I’ve gotten a fill for $50 that was much better in Boston which is arguably a more expensive city. They taped over the price for a gel fill on their price board but I could see through it and it said $49 so I’m unsure how the price changed to $70. I’ve genuinely never left a review good or bad but I chose this place over the others because of its higher reviews and I’m completely disappointed...
