This was the most pretentious bbq l've ever had. I ordered a brisket sandwich at $16.25. Now, that's a lot for one sandwich without anything to come with it but I'm willing to pay more for great tasting food. The restaurant is a 3 minute drive from me but yet, the food arrived cold. Fine, I microwaved it. The sandwich was also much smaller than expected for the price. There was one strip of brisket cut into 3 pieces, topped with 6 pickles and a handful of onions. The worst part was a yellow, mustard-like BBQ sauce that gave the entire sandwich a sour flavor, especially paired with 6 pickles. No sweetness to balance it. Brisket was tough and so dry I had to add my own barbecue sauce! This did not satisfy my BBQ craving and was left remorseful. The next day I ordered from a BBQ place a little further up Broadway and for $17 | got a half rack of ribs, fries, extra sauce, and pita bread. And it was so much tastier! I still had food left the next day. In a town like Astoria with so many affordable AND/OR great tasting options, there is not much room in the competition to...
Read moreI've ordered here a handful of times for delivery. It's just gotten progressively worse so I stopped. My wife wanted a cheesesteak and I was in the area so I thought I would give it a try in person. Made my order in the kiosk and waited. It was about a 40 min wait in total around 6pm. I asked the person at the desk about my order and he said they're still cooking my two sandwiches and fries. That's a long time IMO. So I kept waiting. Eventually it came out and I brought it home. Two major issues. They got my order wrong and labeled our sandwiches wrong. My wife cannot have aioli and I'm allergic to mushrooms, so we both ate some things that did not agree with us. We switched sandwiches only to find out that they put aioli in both. My wife could not eat her sandwich. Last thing, the fries were tiny in portion. They've been skimping in portions which is why we stopped ordering but even this was crazy for us. The sandwiches were also small in size and very salty.
TLDR: be careful when you order. I don't think it's worth the extra money you pay and the food is...
Read moreI wouldn't know if Wonder serves up a good meal. I would have been a first-time customer but for the glitches on the website. It asks to confirm your cell by sending a verification code. The code never arrived - three times. We used my husband's cell and same thing. But it was the attempt to get help for this that really stuck out - in its ineptitude. I called customer service and was on hold for at least ten minutes. I tried to reach the local restaurant and was fed to the same number and put back on hold. I then texted and the wait just to get an answer to a text was unacceptable. Then after maybe 10 minutes (?) finally someone came on whose response was useless, including the suggestion that we go to Wonder to try to remedy the verification code problem. Not what someone wants to hear who's trying to do a delivery order! (and we happen to live more than a mile away). Something is wrong w how this...
