Sam's Barber Shop — Local services in New York

Very unprofessional. Yesterday, 6/5/17 I went in for a haircut. I showed them a photo (an older white male cut my hair) the cut took 20 minutes as opposed to the usual hour a cut from my home barber does. At first it was fine.

Then I touched my scalp and saw that my hair was cut in the opposite direction it grows. And when I got home to a mirror a part of my fro was shaved off. And the sides were too low.

The next day 6/6/17 I visited the shop to ask for a refund because I was unhappy with my haircut. The older gentleman was in a barber chair with his feet kicked up and another man was doing the same. They were both watching tv. I asked for a refund and then they offered to "fix" my hair. Why would I want the man who messed up my hair "fix" my hair. Then after asking for my refund again they say there calmly and the other man said, "The boss isn't here right now and we don't do cash refunds but we can give you store credit." I said no thank you and left.

Don't go here if you are looking for a quality haircut. Or quality service. Or professionalism. This is not the place. Oh and remember you won't get any refunds only...

If I could give no stars I would. My gf went in to get a haircut and we asked them how much is it? The barber answered $20 we said ok. It was a simple shape up maybe took about 20 minutes. When we got up I gave the barber $20 and he demanded more money. I said you told me $20 he said no it’s $30. Horrible way to do business. Her haircut was mediocre at best. She wasn’t happy. I don’t know how these guys stay in business but if you can find a different place I’d avoid this place like a plague. We live so close and we would come back if they were remotely nice honest people. Keep the $10 fellas I hope it was worth losing 2 customers. I’ll spread the word around the...

-5 STARS(NEGATIVE). I just moved into town, and I was looking for a barber and decided to go to these guys. THIS IS LITERALLY THE WORST HAIRCUT I HAVE EVER GOTTEN... EVER!!! They somehow managed to make me look way worse than how I entered. All i asked for was a low fade, but the fade on the left side was higher than the right side, you could see the lines of demarcation between the different steps, and they literally removed all my sides and back, and gave me a high top. IF YOU ARE AFRICAN AMERICAN, AVOID THIS BARBER SHOP. I had to go to Ramon Barbershop for the Dominicans...
