There are a million places to get Chinese food in New York City and I suggest that you order from any one of them other than Sam Lee Kitchen.
Sam Lee Kitchen recently gave me what was (without question) the worst delivery experience I've ever encountered when ordering food. To be fair, this one star review has nothing to do with the quality of the food. I couldn't tell you if their food is good or not, as I never got the meal that I ordered. It was a Wednesday afternoon when my girlfriend and I decided to order from Sam Lee. We were preparing to go to a concert later that evening and elected save time by ordering in. Little did we know that our decision to get delivery from Sam Lee Kitchen would actually make us late for the show. According to the timestamp on my phone, I placed my order at 5:51 pm. The woman who took my order was anything but polite. She spoke only broken English, which I have no problem with, except for the fact that she got frustrated with me for not being able to understand her. She kept shouting the same question over and over - each time I politely asked her to rephrase it, and each time she simply shouted back the same unintelligible phrase louder than before. Finally I deciphered the word "number" and realized she was asking for my room number. After an hour and a half (not an exaggeration) our food still had not arrived, so I called back. A different woman answered the phone, I gave her my information, and she told me the delivery driver had left just a minute earlier with my order. I double-checked Google Maps and (even with the traffic) it should have taken the driver no more than 10 minutes to make the drive. Thirty minutes went by and my food still had not arrived. At this point it had literally been two hours since placing my order. We had a show to go to, so I called the restaurant back to express my frustration and cancel my order. The gentleman who took my call was rude and pushy. Despite telling him that I had to go, he kept insisting that I "just wait a few more minutes". Finally, after telling him for the 5th time that I no longer wanted the food, I hung up the phone.
Having to wait more than two hours for a $20 Chinese food order is frustrating enough. However, I would have understood if someone had simply made the effort to communicate with me. When placing my order, they could have told me they were busy and that I would have a lengthy wait. But what I am most frustrated by was the second phone call, wherein it was obvious that they lied to me about the status of my order.
The ineptitude and dishonesty of the employees at Sam Lee Kitchen did more than just ruin our dinner, it screwed up our plans for the evening.
In summary, it took Sam Lee Kitchen more than two hours to deliver $20 worth of food. Not only were they were rude when taking my order, but they flat out lied to me when I called 90 minutes later to check on the status of my order. I will never order from...

I missed his call, but was soon alerted that he was outside, so I greeted him as I would anyone and the first thing he says, with and angry face is “why didn’t you answer??” and handed over my food as if he’d been waiting outside for days. This isn’t the first time the delivery man has been rude to me. The first time, I was hassled for a tip when I already tipped in the app. He wouldn’t not give me my food until I gave him a tip. I never have cash so I had to scramble for it or else he would’ve stood there all night. The people working here have a terrible attitude, I’ve never experience such a place like this. Like seriously it was a container full of rice. The egg rolls were horrible. They gave no duck sauce which meant I couldn’t even eat the container full of rice. My partner got general tsos which he didn’t enjoy cause it was dry. I got boneless spare ribs that were mostly sauce. The driver wouldn’t come to the door and had the nerve to call twice in less than 3 minutes. And he was in a car. I will never order from this place again....
