During my short trip to New York I needed pedicure and tip extensions with dip powder. Sapphire Nails and Spa was open when others were not, and a walk-in customer received immediate service. The massage feature in the chair did not function, so I was moved fluently to another chair. Perfect. My Nail Technician was MOGI. She was very professional and good in what she did. I must say, I probably got the best pedicure ever :) ! I used Green Tea selection that replenished my tired feet. Everything ended with a nice relaxing massage that was not performed hurriedly to get over it, but by carefully taking care of every spot. The fingernails were taken care with the same meticulous professionalism. When I brought to Mogi's attention that one of the nails was unevenly covered, she corrected it right away. She never lost her pleasant demeanor, even when she looked at the clock on the wall. I realized we had passed the closing time long time ago.
Mogi deserved every bit of her tip.
I also noticed that the salon was very clean and everything was kept in tip top condition. Everyone in the staff wore mask and guests were provided one, if they did not carry one with them.
No drinks were offered. The prices were high to an out-of-state visitor, but it...
Read moreCalled and asked if they did acrylics, was told yes, they don’t. They use tips and dip powder, I was already in too deep so I got a full set. Showed her how long I wanted and she finished my nails. Within three days one of my nails had broken, they were lovely and fixed it. Next day two more nails break, and I kid you not 5 min after the 2nd fix, another nail broke when I was taking off my shoes. Mind you this is 7 days after I get the full set. So I go back again the same day, the owner/manager proceeds to, from what I gathered, scolded my manicurist for letting me get my nails so long, Um what? They’re definitely long but it’s by no means necessarily her fault, she was very gracious and lovely about the whole thing. They did fix them at no charge but at this point I’ve spent as much time fixing broken nails as I did getting the initial full set. 3 days later another nail broke. We are at 5 broken nails after a 10 day span. The full set was over $70. Ridiculous....
Read moreHave always been pleasantly surprised by this place. It is not fancy by any means and somewhat cramped. The main thing I don't like is that they don't have very modern drying equipment for manicures and pedicures (it's literally a fan), which can be annoying if it's particularly humid or warm out. I also didn't like that one time I came in with a birthday coupon sent out by a third party site and they seemed to be alerting everyone that I came in with that, which made me feel like I might have been treated differently because I had a coupon and wasn't paying full price. However, the manicure was done well and lasted a while. Their colors are older, so if you have one you like, I'd bring it because the bottles are definitely thicker from years of use!
My manicures and pedicures have always laster than normal from here, so I will continue to come despite it not being the...
